Back to Mxp, if nothing more, the adage of by on rumour could apply here, seems
news may be forthcoming next week?

Pond life, congraulations on your 100%+ mark up and hope you hit 10p (on news) in the not to distant future. Kicking myself now for not having the bottle to take a punt(if only small).

assuming the info above is accurate, then exceedingly heavy volume ..... shall be absolutely delighted to eat my hat with a generous helping of crow pie if there is indeed logic behind the rise

niceonecyril - 12 Feb 2009 10:17 - 308 of 695

Surely its about profit and 100% is not bad (under statement),"although it could be a bear trap"?
If i had bought at 2p i would sell half and have a free run(if only),what to me the latest trading shows is that a lot of investors have it on thier watch list and know what potential it has.
Thanks for your info on ORE.

cynic - 12 Feb 2009 10:21 - 309 of 695

you would indeed be prudent to do such a thing

cynic - 12 Feb 2009 11:33 - 310 of 695

looks as though MMs do not want to deal ... spread first thing was 0.1p but now 0.6p ..... sp has gone ballistic .... truly hope it will not just as suddenly collapse

cynic - 12 Feb 2009 12:34 - 311 of 695

this crow pie really is very tasty indeed - lol!
i have even bought 10k myself, which surely must be the kiss of death

halifax - 12 Feb 2009 13:55 - 312 of 695

We are out excellent quick profit.

cynic - 12 Feb 2009 14:03 - 313 of 695

well done .... a prudent move .... i'll prob just get burnt at the stake!

Balerboy - 12 Feb 2009 14:32 - 314 of 695

Can't help but you deserve to looking back at your posts, are you like this at home??? poor family. lol

cynic - 12 Feb 2009 14:36 - 315 of 695

i thoroughly agree .... pure greed and nothing else .... certainly not common sense!

cynic - 12 Feb 2009 15:41 - 316 of 695

i sure as hell don't deserve it, but am actually making a small clear profit .... well, showing it anyway!

showing 10% clear, which will just about pay for a decent dinner but not much more, and not at a top restaurant

cynic - 12 Feb 2009 16:11 - 317 of 695

it looks as though only about 7m traded through the market - norm = 4m - so best guess is that the balance of 20m shares is between institutions, for whatever reason ..... still very curious indeed

cynic - 12 Feb 2009 16:34 - 318 of 695

that was very dull ..... stock went into auction at about 16:20 so was unable to close ..... sod's law says back to 5p tomorrow morning!

Pond Life - 12 Feb 2009 18:05 - 319 of 695

Greetings all,
What a busy thread this has become. Delighted to see MXP having a good day at last. It has been a long time coming. Even more delighted that I managed to add another substantial batch at under 4p this morning and also encouraged my son to buy a few more at 3.43p.
This is just the start of the long road back for Max. We now need confirmation of funding from McQuarie bank to enable Max to start drilling on blocks A&E, and the long awaited farm out of the AK block. This should see the share price much higher in the months ahead.
We certainly need Max to start digging holes in the ground and doing what oil companies should be doing.

Cynic - nice to see you're on board. Just a toe or two in the water I see. Hold on to them tight and enjoy the ride. You'll make more than enough for a slap up meal or two at a top restaurant if that's your thing.

Edit: I understand from posters elsewhere that I have met personally (at the MXP AGM) that the funding with McQ is a done deal and that we can expect the RNS shortly. Dangerous to buy on such a rumour, but we have been waiting for this news for so long now, and it was bound to come sooner or later.

Pond Life - 12 Feb 2009 18:08 - 320 of 695

Cynic - I don't understand your post 317. The shares have been trading like fury all day through the market. How did you arrive at your analysis of trades? Certainly not from wathcing the same screens that I have been glued to all day (apart from a quick trip to the driving range at lunch time, that is).

cynic - 12 Feb 2009 18:57 - 321 of 695

i ended up with 20k shares which sounds a lot, but of course is bugger all! ..... prudence tells me i should cash in tomorrow, but greed is a powerful foe ..... at least the crow pie tastes truly delectable; michelin rosette standard even - lol!

cynic - 12 Feb 2009 19:04 - 322 of 695

and a double portion of cream for me too ...... see TMC thread!

niceonecyril - 12 Feb 2009 23:47 - 323 of 695

20,000 tucked away in the bottom draw could easily turn into 20,000 in 3/5years?

Slightly miffed as i never expected such movement pre news my thinking was,i could get in at 5p on arrival of news. "doh"
2 things which spring to mind,
1 exactly the interest and the numbers of IP's on the sidelines.
2 But alas one must consider inside info, not nice?

Pond life ;i see you are a golfer, the golf course is where i've spent my last 2 afternoons, missing all the market action.

as i have a quite serious match tomorrow morning, have decided to venture to the prectice ground later for an hour or so

it's a posh club, so we pronounce it "prectice" - lol!

have put in a sensible stop that will still yield a very tasty and totally undeserved profit .... shall move it (up only!) if warranted
