Rockhopper was established in 2004 with a strategy to invest in and undertake an offshore oil exploration programme in the North Falkland Basin. It was floated on AIM in August 2005. Rockhopper was the first company to make a commercial oil discovery in the Falklands. Today Rockhopper is the largest acreage holder in the North Falkland Basin, with interests in the Greater Mediterranean region.

I would say I do not listen to those posters, but to the chart TA and Indicators that tell me what to do

dance to the tune or ...
sell high and buy low
At the moment waiting from what point is bouncing (fibonacci), it went under the 437p ( 38.2% fibonacci retracement) , so the normal thing is wait if it goes to the next step 50% or 403p.
It went as low as intraday 421p but as the market has been strong is having some support around the 430/435p now

I am starting to get a feeling that RKH might be fast tracking Sea Lion for production in 2012.
Moving to quickly appraise.
Planning permission being sought for a new port in the FI (ref below).
Talk of financial "credit crunch" being the only possible obstacle.
If they foresee raising money by poor levels of dilution is a bad way to further explore, it would therefore make sense to get Sea Lion on to production soonest, to generate the money required to further explore their licenses.
Therefore, will we be looking at Sea Lion in production in 2012 ?
EG the first appraisal well will be plugged and abandoned but the 2nd appraisal later in 2011 will be left suspended for production. I am starting to get the feeling that they are planning to implement fast track production for Sea Lion.
From Penguin News
"Director of Mineral Resources Phyl Rendell welcomed the news of a possible new port: Its a very bold initiative led by local business people which is a real credit to them, she told the Penguin News. Its exactly what the oil industry will need in the event they move to a production phase. It benefits the Falklands to have local companies involved at an early stage in any development phase."

Who cares about the markets, 2012 is just 24 months from now.
If it does appear they will fast track Sea Lion into production, given the potential to be about 700 million recoverable barrels after appraisals, and given the very good fiscal terms of the license - well, is 24 months too long a time to wait for a very real and very large re-rating ?
Production will mean those barrels are properly valued, and for that to happen in 2 years is not a long wait to make serious money.

more hypothetical rubbish from you! ...... you only make money if sp rises AND you bank the profit ...... markets generally only look forward about 6 months, though a regular flow of good news which then lives up to the promise will always bolster the price ...... no news leads to market ennui and a falling sp

It will be at least 2 years...the back end of 2012 at the very earliest...it's the south atlantic for pete's sake.....they haven't even planned the next appraisal well yet.....so perhaps 2.5 to 3 years away.....

Eon is acceptable & comprehensible when used as a word rather than an acronym, even in the UK, hence written in lower case, but criticism accepted! ;o)
