SWW,
Merrils upgraded PMO from sell to neutral.
"Merrill has reviewed the UK Oil & Gas Explorers and has raised EPS estimates across the board by 19% for 2005, and 14% for 2006 after raising Brent forecasts. They have upgrade Premier Oil (PMO.L) to neutral from sell and have raised targets in Paladin Resources (PLR.L) to 210p from 200p and Tullow (TLW.L) to 180p from 175p. Their best value play is Cairn Energy (CNE.L) (target 1450p)."
A southern comfort would go down nice just now! Maybe a bit early though...

Ha!
The phantom buyer.................
This will start to move now bit by bit and up at that.
Remember you chartists, the line can break up as well as down in the absecnce of any news.
Well, this one broke upwards.
We are all learning aren't we?

Nice RNS. A few more of these would help the cause, as would some drilling reports over the coming months.
Time for a drink I think.

We'll get Chinguetti update soon... as you'll know they only mention weekly Tiof developments. But as we've had activity on Ching for a month now and no news, it also means that there is no bad news!
Share price strengthening nicely on strong volume.

They've dumped .5m since 3/12 when they owned 43.1m or 3.09%...... not bought!! There was no need for any rns, imo, as their holding did not pass through a full percentage point.

Seems to be a bit of confusion here. The RNS today states:
"24 January 2005 by The Moore Credit Fund (Master),
L.O. that, as of 20 January 2005, it was interested in 42,600,000 ordinary
shares of 1p each in the Company, representing 3.06 per cent."
And from the RNS of 3/12/04 mentioned in Hilary's post:
"The Company was informed on 2 December 2004 by The Moore Macro Fund L.P. that as
of 22 November 2004 it was interested in 43,100,000 ordinary shares of 1p each
in the Company, representing 3.09 per cent."
So we have the Moore Credit Fund (Master) L.O. and The Moore Macro Fund L.P.

I think:-
Same wolf but different fund.
That is why there was an RNS.
They have to declare over 3%.
So they have over 6% now.....................
Candles apparently confirm that this is a break away. (From advfn).
Tea leaves are not quite so clear on the issue but I should have emptied the cup of all liquid first.
I am amazed at how little people really know about this, and I include me in that.
Lots of guesswork but no real knowledge.
I am asking elsewhere too so hopefully we will get an answer.
May be a load of tosh to some but we may as well have an answer to this.

Interesting idea to get someone from Moores on here, seawallwalker. Maybe Louis Bacon himself will turn up.
:o)
I'm also intrigued by the break away chart pattern. How do they work exactly? Are they anything to do with short holidays or chocolate bars?
On a serious note, I think that you're being a bit premature in calling a head and shoulders chart patterm just yet. Certainly not until the right shoulder is in place (around 17p or 17.5p) and the price action is actually moving down towards the neckline (14.5p or thereabouts) again. Confirmation comes with a move down through the neckline. Incidentally, why are you getting so excited about a possible H & S? That's a bearish chart pattern. Aren't you meant to be a Permabull?

You got excited hilary so why can't anyone else?
Reserved to you is it?
Personally I rely more on tea leaves and the stars.
Probably more accurate.
You just can't help yourself can you?
Say Moo!

"Personally I rely more on tea leaves and the stars."
Now there's a surprise. May I take it that we won't be getting an answer as to what a break away chart pattern is then?

Hils, welcome back to you! for the record any change in shareholding by any holder of 3% or more must be reported (even if a single share is bought or sold whilst over 3%).
