Looking strong this morning. News imminent? Or is this mostly related to change in India interest rate? Share price up 23% this past couple of weeks. As ever, prepared to bank short term gains in case they fade.

And up again this afternoon..

I'm in. This should provide good returns in the long run. The early bird....

India's election result will presumably to be percieved as beneficial to stocks such as this one involved in significant infrastructure projects.

An interesting press article from David Bellamy of broker Brewin Dolphin - featuring Skil Ports as a stock that he holds shares in, and which he has put clients' money into.

Annual results are expected tomorrow.

Activity at last! Dignitaries today attended a ceremony inaugurating the Karanja port project. Sometime tomorrow the website is apparently being updated with a video and new images.

Video (now on website) does indeed show only the speech, not the site. Sounds like we might finally see a site video around end of January perhaps.

At last, Skil Ports (SPL) have posted something on their website giving a clue as to what they are working towards at Karanja. No realtime progress images, but a nice amimated video see video

And a poster on another bulletin board has this morning posted images of what appears to be the beginnings of construction of an earth bank forming possibly the east approach road (The port plan is basically a steel framed platform standing offshore, linked to land via two gated access roadways - and this looks like one of those roadways - though rather crude, so might be purely for constructor access and replaced or reinforced later?)

On a longterm chart this looks just like one of the many previous upkicks within what - each time - turned out to be an ongoing downtrend. Is it different this time?? Has it finally bottomed?

Photographs that we've now seen (if genuine) suggest that things are at last happening on site.

This new batch of progress photos posted by PJ1 an hour ago has triggered sharp upward movement in the share price:

Karanja port update

Up 19% today. That's nice. 76% up from its low of Nov 26.

The original investors considered the company to be worth over £100m - and that was based on a port project that still required various permissions and approvals which might not have been forthcoming. After very long delays those have now been granted and construction is at last under way, with a constant stream of tipper trucks coming and going every day.
