I have noticed over the last few days some strange trading going on with Catalyst shares does any body have any views on this?? Is something about to happen at last. No news to speak of as such .I have been in these from the first day after the shares where back to buy after the suspension with an average price @ 4.12. Maybe some one will make a response after having no luck with previous posts.

Catalyst Media Group PLC
28 November 2005

28 November 2005

Catalyst Media Group Plc

Catalyst Media Group plc ('CMG') is pleased to announce that the Board of
Satellite Information Systems (Holdings) Ltd ('SIS') has resolved to pay an
interim dividend of 10 million with immediate effect. CMG's share of this
dividend is 2.2 million which will be applied to the early reduction of debt
which was raised to part finance the acquisition of a 20% interest in SIS (the
'Acquisition') in September 2005 for 23 million in cash. This interest was
increased to 22.2% following the buy back of shares by SIS in November 2005.

The Acquisiton was partly financed by the issuance of secured deep discounted
Bonds to Eureka Interactive Fund Ltd for a subscription of 11.75 million.
Whilst the Bonds have a nominal value on maturity of 16.7 million they may be
redeemed at any time at a deep discount which equates to an interest rate of 10%
per annum. Consequently, following application of the funds from this dividend,
the outstanding balance will be reduced from 12.09 million, including accrued
interest, to 9.9 million.

SIS has, in the recent past, had a policy of declaring a substantial dividend
every four years. The Directors of CMG expect the next dividend in line with
this policy to be declared before the end of 2006.

Since the Acquisition, CMG has comprehensively restructured and the Group is now
profitable on a monthly basis.

Squidd. Volume up today with some large size buys.Any thoughts as to why there are only quite large size trades going through and no small trades smaller investors seem to be staying away.I think your SP quote of 7-8p is very easilly achievable short term but i am holding these as a 2-3 year investment in this time scale I would think the SP would be at least 20p+.

KZ: Yes, we seem to be the only small fry that have found this one so far. Often though, I find bottom fishing a very lonely meal. I agree with long term prospects.

Found this over on iii on the CMX thread.

Peter Shearlocks Small Cap Stock Picks.

Catalyst gets interim divi from SIS

When I tipped Catalyst Media Group a month ago I was hoping that Satellite Information Services (SIS), in which Catalyst has a 22.2 per cent stake, would pay a 50 million dividend to its shareholders in early 2006. Catalysts share of that would have come close to wiping out the debt used to fund the purchase of the stake.

Well, last week Catalyst announced that SIS was paying an interim 10 million dividend, and that the substantial dividend expected will be declared before the end of 2006. That is not quite as exciting, since SIS share of the interim payment will be just 2.2 million though it will reduce the outstanding borrowing from 12.09 million to 9.9 million.

SIS has confirmed the borrowing came from a hedge fund (presumably the only source willing to fund the deal at the time) and that there is a substantial financial penalty to pay if the debt is allowed to run to maturity. Hopefully, by this time next year, a 10 million dividend from SIS will have come close to eliminating that borrowing.

Catalyst also said last week it was now profitable on a monthly basis. The shares have come up from 3.13p to 4.13p but have further to go. I still believe they are selling for little more than six or seven times earnings. Hold.

squidd - 04 Dec 2005 16:14 - 37 of 49

KZ: This latest news makes me feel uneasy. Presumably, SIS bought back their shares with cash that would otherwise have been a dividend, and although the value to shareholders is unchanged, the ready cash available to CMX is mostly delayed until next year. Still, USS Ltd seem unconcerned and continue stakebuilding. Will keep holding and watching.

Keysersoze - 04 Dec 2005 17:24 - 38 of 49

Squidd: I dont understand as to why this would make you uneasy??CMX have a larger holding in SIS now as a result of SIS buying back their own shares. Agreed it would have meant more money towards the divi but I see this as a better long term prospect greater stake for the future with SIS turnover consistently increasing year on year this can only be seen surely as positive. Once the rest of the money is paid back for the stake in SIS then with the steady year on year growth in SIS then this will put CMX in a great position with the SIS holding just on its own without any other revenue of at least 25mln+ with big fat divi`s just rolling in.

THE FUTURES BRIGHT THE FUTURES CMX

Regards,

Keysersoze.

squidd - 05 Dec 2005 06:21 - 39 of 49

KZ: I agree that CMX have a more valuable investment in SIS, but I suspect they would have preferred money up front to avoid the possibility of penalty payout on their loan. Time will tell.

Happy New Year Squidd,

Off topic but have a look at EME and let me know what you think. Looks very promising IMO.Look forward to the Squidd Analysis

Regards,

Keysersoze.

squidd - 02 Jan 2006 18:37 - 41 of 49

KZ: Thanks for the good wishes; a prosperous New Year to you and indeed to everybody else who happen to look in: it appears that your VOG stake is on course to get your NY off to a good start.
I can't find anything to get excited about with EME, it just seems to be yet another new exploration minnow who might strike it rich; that area is I think a case of lucky dip/
Just risen to the top of my bottom fisher's watch list is APA, you might want to watch that thread.
Meanwhile CMX continues to hold its own and enjoy decent volumes - surely it must come off the bottom sooner or later.
Best Wishes sd.

Hi Squidd,

Managed to get another 100000 @ 3.12 this afternoon bargain basement eh?? as soon as my buy went through as a ?? the offer went straight back up to 3.50. This share price is being moved around on no volume by the MM I think something is brewing in the background the SIS interim dividend is due for release shortly I believe so I guess the MM are gathering stock.Hope you are still holding and topping up at these low prices look forward to your thoughts.

Squidd ......................................

squidd - 27 Jan 2006 22:46 - 45 of 49

KZ: Thankfully, CMX is off the floor and again showing promise as a recovery stock. I think the punters may have been fretting about the timing and value of the SIS dividend, and either losing interest or baling out. I almost did so myself, as I tend to maintain a severe stop loss, but this time around apathy won and I'm still in. However, it seems to have found a base and hopefully could well now blossom. Your VOG and EME are looking really exciting and so I suppose you can afford to be adventurous - or almost reckless in my view - with your latest purchases in CMX.

Keysersoze - 28 Jan 2006 10:05 - 46 of 49

Squidd,

Glad to see you are still holding with regards to your view of my latest purchase being reckless I was just about to buy another 100k at around 2.75 to bring my average price down even lower. This is the way I like to trade. The fundamentals of the company have not changed at all so my initial purchases at 4p+ I was more than happy buying at this price but even happier to keep adding at sub 3p if given the chance again. Buying at these levels could only be described as a bargain will keep adding if reaching sub 3p again but maybe I may not get chance hopefully not.
Have you had chance to read the Brokers Note yet interesting reading.

EVO brokers note from http://www.cmg-plc.com/ under investor relations.

Sold out of VOG but I still am holding 40k in EME this coming week should see drilling results released and if positive it will at least double the SP from todays price. I have been in & out a few times currently 7k in profit so not a great deal of downside if news is not good. Some of the profits will be finding a home in TMC & a little more in CMX if news is good.

I just had a look at APA over on A D V F N and noticed you on the thread I spend most of my time over there now I just nip over here to see this thread. So I will catch you on the CMX thread over there from now and will research APA over the weekend looking at the chart looks good for at least 100% in SP.......short term possibly more looks like another good find.....!!!!!

squidd - 07 Feb 2006 11:40 - 47 of 49

KZ: In case you are looking in, I have sold my holding in CMX - at a loss. I was never happy with the revised SIS deal and I don't think other investors were, hence the price drift.
Meanwhile, have been buying into other stocks which are showing stronger signs of recovery, including CW, GTL & AFN.

Keysersoze - 07 Feb 2006 22:14 - 48 of 49

Squidd,

Im still in maybe have to wait until autumn time for some positive movement in the SP.Going to hold until then. News form EME soon should see a decent rise this week.Funds currently stretched to say the least will look into CW,GTL&AFN at the weekend as im out of town currently.Hope you didnt lose to much here I have managed to trade a few on the dips makes it a little less painfull waiting. I set a time period of 12-24 months for CMX and I am happy to stick with it at least for CGT reasons.
