Earthport: Ready to fly (EPO)

jdubb - 04 Mar 2004 17:44

Some good news at last from this weeks Shares mag. Tim Freeborn revisits the company and altho no firm details are given about new deals he says they will be announced this quarter. I would think that this could be at the same time as the interim results are announced. I for one will be holding on cos they will fly sooner rather than later! ( 8.30% up today!)

once again tim has been let down by the chairman. But the announcements are coming and you will know more on weds

Have a look at the current EPO BB over on ADVFN, then you'll come to realize that all is not rosy between us shareholders and EPO management, especially CEO Rob Cunningham, mainly for the very reason you have outlined. What they say and what actually happens are 2 VERY different things. Most worrying if i didnt believe in the unique product they have developed.

ssanebs - 29 Mar 2004 17:05 - 35 of 706

with bridgewell as the new brokers we should see an improvement

hannick - 29 Mar 2004 17:14 - 36 of 706

What do you mean ss ? Can the brokers influence the way in which news flow and management style at EPO is conducted ?

ssanebs - 29 Mar 2004 22:20 - 37 of 706

yes. good brokers make a difference. Bridgewell is broker and corporate adviser and they will work closely with epo. its upto the company to take the advise of the broker

This from tomorrows Times(30th);

The Times - Markets
By Nick Hasell

'Earthport, the AIM-listed electronic payment services company, was pegged at 3p, despite talk it will unveil a substantial contract win alongside tomorrows interims.'

Keep the faith!!!

jdubb - 30 Mar 2004 08:15 - 39 of 706

Nice buys this morning!

bosley - 30 Mar 2004 09:39 - 40 of 706

jdubb, is this announcement one of those announcements thats been promised but failed to arise? or do we have something real to look forward to this time ? i apologise for my sceptism but.......

jdubb - 30 Mar 2004 13:11 - 41 of 706

I have no inside knowledge, but if the papers have picked up on this point, then maybe the interims will contain contract wins, or soon after. The Guardian was right when it said there would be a change of adviser (and ssanebs too!!) so maybe they've got this right too. We'll just have to wait hey mate.

windys160 - 30 Mar 2004 15:10 - 42 of 706

any views on earthport reaching the heights of a couple of years ago (30p) or is this a distant memory never to be seen again?

astonvilla - 30 Mar 2004 15:17 - 43 of 706

topped up with some more today.......any idea when the results are normally posted. I'm on their mailing system will this be the quickest way to find out? Fingers crossed, I just have a small hunch it may not be the concrete news we are looking for just hoping they will give some indication of contracts in the pipeline. I was reading the ADVFN message board....this site is more polite and respectful :-)) but some good info on it.

hannick - 30 Mar 2004 15:18 - 44 of 706

EPO never reached the heights of 30p.

It slid through 30p on it's way down from 1.00+ to current levels and has never left it's current range of 1.75p to 4p.

It's time it did though.

hannick - 30 Mar 2004 15:20 - 45 of 706

Look at the chart - 30p/70p/50p - it's been through all of them !

The chart only freezes at just under 30p (where the straight line is) as that was the period when the shares were suspended.

Yes we like to be respectful and polite on this thread, whats the point in being nasty? we're only here to make ourselves some dosh afterall!

W160

Highly unlikely to reach those lofty heights again without serious earnings, also because the share capital has at least quadrupled since that period to 537mil. Current market cap is around 16mil at 3.125p so you work it out at 30p!

Grandma - 30 Mar 2004 17:28 - 47 of 706

Please imagine quavery voice...
I Remember...
I bought 100 Earthport in Feb.2000 (before they did 100 for 1 )at 26.40 so they have been at least 2.64.
Oops first version Feb.1900. Not quite that old. Heady times of the Tech bubble feel ages away now though.

jdubb - 30 Mar 2004 17:37 - 48 of 706

G

Feb 1900, that makes you at least 120 years old! well done!!
PS; was Rob Cunningham still the CEO back then? About time he pegged it then!

windys160 - 30 Mar 2004 21:12 - 49 of 706

what sort of price could we hope for over the next 6 months?

ssanebs - 30 Mar 2004 21:14 - 50 of 706

The government deal is the big one, and a deal with Br. Airways has been mentioned to the major shareholders.

hightone - 30 Mar 2004 21:36 - 51 of 706

ssanebs how do you know this ??

HT.

jdubb - 30 Mar 2004 22:15 - 52 of 706

W160

That depends how we go tomorrow doesnt it? 5-10p could be possible i suppose, although 10p puts the market cap at 53mil, which is going some on current t/o figures!
