Trinidad Update.

Looks good the TT update, suspect this was put out to back up the first news incase
it was not taken to well.

Every cloud has a silver lining so or they say.

We have a TT update 3 days after the mailing should of gone out in the states. No news on this yet ?

Ok, so having fully digested the HRN release I was about to write a very long-ated post about the value and the excitement that this RNS has given me. HOWEVER, looking through the +10 posts, 'several' excellent posts have already fully explained the upside and euphoria that this release signified. A bonus pay section at the top, nearly 700M of 'potential' payzones and we're not even 'officially' even at our first target (note the apostrophes over the word officially). This was more than I personally expected from the RNS and has left me incredibly excited for the next 2 weeks or so ahead.

Trinidad - well, all wells continue to produce above expectation quantities. A little slow, but don't forget these wells are merely the foreplay to the real meal of the Herreras and UC. Walter knows this acreage like no other and has had a 100% success rate since RRL acquired these licences. I stand by my comments some weeks ago, Trinidad alone, especially when we get a little deeper, has the potential alone on the next 12 months of being worth towards the $1B figure....

All good campers. Of course the markets will play with weak holders. Strong holders and those that understand the real detail in this RNS will be adding to the extreme today. I am more confident than ever as to how this will turn out.... A blue finish??? It really wouldn't surprise me today - we have a bonus payzone and masses of other leads before we even reach the main targets. Oh, and just to be predictable, the current SP is worth nowhere near the current value of our P1s in Trinidad and Texas so you really can't lose at these levels... )

Range Resources (LON:RRL) slipped 3% during early trading after the company provided an update on
drilling operations on the Shabeel well in Puntland, Somalia which is being drilled by its Joint Venture
Operator, Horn Petroleum Corp. ("Horn"). The Shabeel well is currently at a depth of 2703 metres and the
setting of the 9 5/8" casing has just been completed. The well drilled through primarily tight limestones and
shales of Lower Tertiary to Upper Cretaceous age and encountered a 355 metre section of Upper Cretaceous
sands and shales of the Tisje / Jesomma Formations at a depth of approximately 1660 metres. The sands in
this interval exhibited both oil and gas shows and petrophysical analysis of downhole electrical logs indicates
a potential pay zone of between 12 and 20 metres in the section. Attempts to sample formation fluids using a
wireline formation tester were not successful and thus the zone will require cased hole testing to confirm
whether they are oil bearing. At a depth of 2015 metres, a thick section of tight limestone and shales was
encountered and extended to the present depth of 2703 metres. This is believed to correspond to the Upper
Cretaceous Gumburo Formation. The forward plan on the well will be to drill ahead to the originally planned
depth of 3800 metres to evaluate the primary and secondary reservoir targets in the Lower Cretaceous and
Jurassic intervals equivalent to the main productive section seen in the analogous fields in Yemen. A testing
programme including the zones of interest seen to date and any deeper potential pay zones identified will be
agreed with partners at that time. Upon completion of this well, the Company plans to move the rig to the
Shabeel North location on which construction is nearing completion.
Horn's President and CEO, David Grellman, commented "We are encouraged by the results to date and
pleased that we have confirmed the presence of an active petroleum system in the Dharoor Valley. We look
forward to drilling ahead into the primary objectives of the well and hope to confirm the shallow prospective
zones by testing in the near future."

Cheers DC just a pity I hadn't had the amount in them as I have RRL - wasn't going to bother at all, as I said I was going to hang my boots up but sold BDEV at a loss and looked at MTA for a few months and took the plunge long may it continue. Not really my luck but nice for a change. Thanks again, having a G & T and an early night for me. Surely RRL must turn around soon.

Had enough doubles over the past 12months watching RRL think the liver needs a small rest.

it would have been nice for them to confirm in the RNS today, how more days it would take to reach their target depth, rather than leaving everyone to try to guess. They are still 1100m away !
Disappointing to see the company use the tactic of attempting to mix some positive news (TT) with the bad news (Putland).

Just trying to think when was the last time this company had a half decent rise on an RNS. Errr decent falls . Give us a break no rns tomorrow please, could be a blue day then.

p, they were at 2002 mtrs on 7th March and 12th April 2703 mtrs. A calendar month for 700 mtrs. I know different operations are being done as the drill descends, so hard to tell. Like you say 1100 mtrs to go, at the rates above could be a month and a half.
SOMETHING DONT ADD UP. Horn said 90 days for the drill, a week or so out would not be to bad.

I have read the big guns are or have flown out to Somalia for an announcement over the weekend. Before todays rns I thought we were very close to TD. If this rumour is true with todays rns, I have no idea.

Before my time 3m. 24 pence seems miles away. My view only Just wonder if this will hit high teens, not so sure about 20 pence this year. We have some great projects for the future but does nothing to the sp when announced. WE NEED TO BE SELLING OIL,
with 2 billion shares. Also the company or PL to stop stating impossible time frames.
There will be a spike if oil found in Puntland but I would guess a lot of selling.
I hope I am way out with the sp and it roars past .

with 2B shares could do with off shore punty coming good in time also!!
