Rockhopper was established in 2004 with a strategy to invest in and undertake an offshore oil exploration programme in the North Falkland Basin. It was floated on AIM in August 2005. Rockhopper was the first company to make a commercial oil discovery in the Falklands. Today Rockhopper is the largest acreage holder in the North Falkland Basin, with interests in the Greater Mediterranean region.

Holding up pretty well imo.

So what we need now is the "new and attractive" prospects details.

Rachel will have helped, as they say, to calibrate the 3D against sandstone reservoirs, that data is going to be invaluable in going over those new and attractive prospects again.

There is also potential that this new data might have implications to the RKH CPR and how the 3D over Sea Lion is re-interpreted.

Would be funny now if with this new data the CPR is "MAYBE" now ok at 242m barrels recoverable......... just joking :)

I just hope its not too many weeks before we get the details of those new prospects, however, I feel its going to be a few weeks.

They will want to wait for the results of the sidetrack and the logging data from the vertical and sidetrack in order to further process all that data perhaps.

Should be a tidy amount of shorts closing off later today and taking profits ahead of the weekend.

Something for the share price watchers to look forward to.

Frankly...Rockhopper have performed as badly as Desire.....better value elsewhere in the world.....by a mile....

HARRYCAT - 15 Oct 2010 10:57 - 3350 of 6294

Then why do you keep buying?

Proselenes - 15 Oct 2010 10:57 - 3351 of 6294

No there is not.

700m barrels recoverable to play for from Sea Lion .

No license issues. Stable British waters area. Good tax and royalties scheme.

Lots of new and attractive prospects, perhaps north of 3 billion recoverable barrels.

All 100% owned.

Better elsewhere ? In your dreams.

I'm not.....bought some DES on the crash...hoping for a profit....timing is very difficult....at a bad loss on RKH....luckily only minimal compared to what I had at the top....far better value in quite a few oilies across the world.....

cynic - 15 Oct 2010 11:01 - 3353 of 6294

Pros - the whole current problem with RKH is that NO QUANTUM has been proved, so this 700m recoverable is nothing more than (reasonable?) guesswork

as for "better value", i reckon that AFR, EO and XEL all offer a safer bet and in a much shorter timescale

Proselenes - 15 Oct 2010 11:03 - 3354 of 6294

cynic, RPS are happy to sign off on 170m barrels. Its flow tested and proven.

That alone is worth more than the present market cap.

The upside is all to play for and why there are appraisal wells and more 3D going to happen early next year.

3D alone could result in RPS upgrading the P50 figure to well over 242m.

Appraisal drills will do the most talking and who knows where the final P50 figure will be once the 3D and the appraisal drills are done. Will be a lot higher than 170m recoverable barrels of that I am sure.

required field - 15 Oct 2010 11:05 - 3355 of 6294

Proselenes...I know you have been right as of late, but just bringing up ridiculous figures like the ones you have just stated....in the artic waters...there are 20 billion barrels of oil minimum....around the uk....35 billion barrels of hydrocarbons lie undiscovered...these figures like this are all unproven...perhaps RKH has a lot but we don't know yet !..for sure...and DES might have alot...hope so...but more wells are needed....no spudding for RKH until February at the earliest..perhaps later...

cynic - 15 Oct 2010 11:07 - 3356 of 6294

unless i am much mistaken, 170m is actually only indicated and not yet proven ..... 700m????? - currently a pipedream

required field - 15 Oct 2010 11:12 - 3357 of 6294

It's the long wait ..I'm not happy with....might have to bite the bullet on RKH...but not yet....
