Petrofac - service supplier to oil/gas industry (PFC)

cynic - 31 Jul 2006 16:46

Chart.aspx?Provider=EODIntra&Code=PFC&Si

On 3rd July PFC announced that it was trading well ahead of expectations. Not surprisingly, sp jumped but has now fallen back pretty much to the same level as before the announcement.

While perhaps not as exciting as finding the next Cairn, remember that in the goldrush days, it was rarely the prospectors who made the money, but rather the suppliers of the spades and tents and stuff - e.g. Levis if memory serves me aright.

Indeed, looks reasonable.

HARRYCAT - 13 Aug 2012 11:53 - 335 of 839

(Digitallook) Petrofac may have announced that it is on track to hit its full-year guidance but Investec has maintained its 'hold' rating and 1,500p target price on the stock, saying that it is 'still worrying about the future'.

"Although 1H12 contract wins have just kept the order book on track (only a 4% decline since December after recent awards), delays in some contract awards to refill the core E&C [Engineering & Construction] backlog will not now occur until 2013, making it more difficult to maintain revenue and profits in this key division and underpin growth forecasts for that year."

This one seems to get more relative down remarks then some.. but surprise surprise nearly always comes back.

Stan - 13 Aug 2012 15:36 - 337 of 839

OK, permission to rise that SP please -):

cynic - 31 Aug 2012 14:22 - 340 of 839

good to see this well on the rumble again after a couple of tasty contract wins .... i'm still very slightly out of the money, but it's one of the stocks i tend to hold for quite a long time, so not too put out

cynic - 04 Sep 2012 11:00 - 341 of 839

aha! - a little peek through 200 dma ..... wonder (hope!) if it will hold

and this is partly why i rate this company so highly and above LAM, despite highly derogatory comments from certain quarters ..... whereas LAM is pretty much a one trick pony, PFC has a wide range to its portfolio

* Investec raises Petrofac Ltd to buy from hold; price target to 2000p from 1500p

magicjoe - 14 Sep 2012 08:30 - 344 of 839

re - derogatory comments ?

KEEP sucking NANNIES EGGS, she knows too much

anything risers today

somone is learning from " pro " .........Yes the RAMPING

magicjoe - 14 Sep 2012 08:49 - 345 of 839

Pretty clear who won the race during the last month talk - compare -

LAM + 34%
PFC + 13%

you are the losser as usual

shame on you BIG mouth but no trousers to see it.

Chart.aspx?Provider=EODIntra&Code=LAM&Si

cynic - 14 Sep 2012 08:56 - 346 of 839

"my daddy's bigger than your" ...... "no he isn't" ..... "yes he is" ....... blah blah blah blah

cynic - 14 Sep 2012 08:58 - 347 of 839

now i wonder which colour is LAM .....

Chart.aspx?Provider=EODIntra&Code=LAM&Si

so as you were saying ......

magicjoe - 14 Sep 2012 09:17 - 348 of 839

Thick, thick and thick

twisting things around will not get you nowhere but LYING to YOURSELF, people are much clever than you

the buying was since last month ............ your chart ( ONE YEAR OLD ) does not matter for the talk about ( I ONLY BOUGHT LAST MONTH and I am out with 41% profit ) .

you STUPID old fart, saying is in Dubai and spending all day on the net, but most likely is on W11.

Stan - 14 Sep 2012 09:21 - 349 of 839

A post for Master RSI, you may do better if you could realise that we here are "all" playing "against the Stock Market SP movements" and not "each other".

There is no excuse for abuse either.

cynic - 14 Sep 2012 09:26 - 350 of 839

we all know who he is, and no doubt the powers that be will chuck him down the mineshaft once again ....... what amuses me so much is that he has yet to realise that his posts reveal far more about his own inadequacies as a human-being than an anything else

magicjoe - 14 Sep 2012 11:04 - 351 of 839

Stan

are you talking to me

if that is the case then I am ......... magicjoe

re - there is no excuse for abuse

I told the stupid old fart to buy some ....bleach to clean up .... mouth early on the week, due to ( his/her ) abuse

now the best I concluded is .......... joint on the abuse as ( he/she ) did not buy the BLEACH neither use it.

re - we here are "all" playing "against the Stock Market SP movements"

That is what I do and winning most times without lies like the ..........stupid old fart -

no one said there was anything wrong about PFC, apart that there was a better chance of making more money short term on LAM .......and that has been the case. after comming along at LAM thread saying that I prefer PFC than LAM.

I considered that a very interfering ........stupid old fart ....remark

cynic - 14 Sep 2012 08:14 - 343 of 350
and this is partly why i rate this company so highly and above LAM, despite highly derogatory comments from certain quarters

magicjoe - 14 Sep 2012 11:08 - 352 of 839

LOOSER all the way, that is what you are ....

twisting things around when you can not win the argument that yourself have started.

magicjoe - 14 Sep 2012 11:23 - 353 of 839

from LAM thread .....

cynic - 06 Sep 2012 21:03 - 244 of 270
i think there are better investments in this sector and part of the world - PFC is the very obvious choice

sutherlh1 - 07 Sep 2012 08:58 - 245 of 270
Agree Cynic, however Lam has been badly beat up, probably more than justified and I think it may be due nice bounce in a rising market. Got in below 90p a few weeks ago, hoping for 120p. H

cynic - 07 Sep 2012 09:31 - 246 of 270
i know pfc are much heavier, and though i certainly wouldn't want to be one of their contractors - they squeeze them very hard - they are a first class company as their consistently strong performance shows

magicjoe - 07 Sep 2012 10:05 - 247 of 270
someone RAMPING - PFC ?
As usual ( he/she ) is on the wrong thread and filling down after ...... Getting kicked left right and center all day long around "moneyam"

everybody has different strategies on making money, no long term as you say today but not yesterday after getting out with 1.50p profit.

---------
sutherlh1

LAM is strongly bouncing from a double bottom

buy cheap sell high is the motto

me too got at 87.05p less than a month ago

cynic - 07 Sep 2012 10:32 - 248 of 270
what's up with you you tosser???
metioning that one prefers Company X to Company Y is suddenly deemed to be ramping???????

if you look back, you'll see that i used to be a big fan of LAM but have lost confidence in them ..... i rather feel that LAM's new JV in Saudi is grasping for straws and their only real hope is that someone (PFC?) will take them out

magicjoe - 07 Sep 2012 11:54 - 249 of 270
Gotcha

did you see a .......? blind an old it seems

you better go to see father X and confess of your sins

money to the ones who deserve it

misery to the devils with BIG mouth ( they have not bleach to clean it up )

keep going up baby 113 now

cynic - 07 Sep 2012 12:03 - 250 of 270
