THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

bosley - 07 Jan 2006 16:39 - 3382 of 81564

alan, i thought it was complete just as it is, didn't need a caption......

hewittalan6 - 07 Jan 2006 18:26 - 3383 of 81564

Sorry, Bos.
Didn't realise what was happening on here. Jimmys post explains it all and I agree with you now.
Jimmy,
His sense of humour is of a similar size to his...................................shareholdings!!
Theres always at least one horrible creepy thing that people just want to tread on in every crate of bananas. We may have found ours!!!
Anyway, out for a mexican meal and a couple of cerveza's so............... Hasta la Vista.

Is it really, seen the 51st state before but well worth watching again. Saw The Island last night... Not sure if its even at the cinema yet but very good I thought all the same.

bosley - 08 Jan 2006 00:13 - 3386 of 81564

alan, 51st state or the man with two brains? only one winner for me. steve martin at his absolute best......now then, in dillman's grove

in dillman's grove, our love did die,
and now in ground shall ever lie.
none could e'er replace her visage,
until your face brought thoughts of kissage.

genius. and i've not even mentioned pointy birds......

hewittalan6 - 08 Jan 2006 09:25 - 3387 of 81564

Saw The Island on the flight back from Yanksville.
For those who haven't seen it, it is almost a rehash of "Brave New World" (Robin Cook?).
Good idea, good actors, Good story, but in my opinion it loses its way about two thirds into the movie and moves from being a good action sci-fi to a formula far-fetched adventure. Beleivability disappears in favour of big buget special effects.
I can understand people loving it, but not my cup of tea after the first hour.
Bos, you missed a treat. A real roll call of some of the best modern acting talent in a film that is easy to watch, very funny, well written and takes the best of British writing and delivery and lets Hollywood run riot with the directing and producing. it will always feature near the top of my favourites list.

Has anyone noticed how many new threads are popping up on here just with the intention of slagging people off ,such as so and so is a ramper ,or this person is a dick head etc ,its becoming like ADVFN ,pathetic..
This is about the best thread on here now ,,(where we have a bit of fun when the market becomes a bit tedious) but i'm fast losing heart with moneyam ,there was even people slagging Goldfinger off the other day ,who does post some good tips during the year ,with no other intetion than to highlight a good stock with potential.
I used to just buy shares without using sites such as this ,and i'm fast thinking of becoming a recluse again.. Moneyam wasn't like this even one year ago ,we need to clean it up!!!! ...

hewittalan6 - 08 Jan 2006 23:44 - 3392 of 81564

I'll sign that petition!!!!
The only thing to do JB, is to ignore 'em.
Don't go. We need you to keep us smiling and make our stock picking look good!!!

got tons of red all over my watchlist. strange day.......
in the middle of a flat-pack frenzy, lots of furniture arrived today. got me tool out and doing loads of screwing :)

driver - 10 Jan 2006 15:07 - 3397 of 81564

bos
You should have CCT on your watch list sales up 60% and a bid for the other half of the company, could go to 200p IMO.
The news hasnt really leaked out to the average punter yet and there is a shotage of stock holding the price back.

hewittalan6 - 10 Jan 2006 16:01 - 3398 of 81564

Disasterous day for me too bos.
All red and green except one, and my holding in that is lower than it was!!
Still, it was due after the bull run of late.
