THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

bos
You should have CCT on your watch list sales up 60% and a bid for the other half of the company, could go to 200p IMO.
The news hasnt really leaked out to the average punter yet and there is a shotage of stock holding the price back.

hewittalan6 - 10 Jan 2006 16:01 - 3398 of 81564

Disasterous day for me too bos.
All red and green except one, and my holding in that is lower than it was!!
Still, it was due after the bull run of late.

Beautiful down here in Sussex.

hewittalan6 - 11 Jan 2006 09:12 - 3403 of 81564

Wow, Sussex is bigger than I thought. It seems to stretch all the way to include some of the Maldives.
I was hoping to go back to the Maldives next year, but I might change my mind now and go for a weekend in Hove instead.

Al ,come and stay with me ,we have electricity ,central heating and running hot water in the south you'd love it .

hewittalan6 - 11 Jan 2006 09:21 - 3405 of 81564

You're spoilt rotten, you lot.
We have no need of central heating due to the warmth of our personality and sincerity, no need of running hot water when we have family bath nights in tin baths in front of the fire and we can make our own electricity by rubbing an amber rod with cat fur.
We have it all.
On the plus side, even if the weather is cold and crap, pre season cricket training starts on Friday at Gods second home, headingly. So summer must be nearly here.

Just one thing, jimmy. If I come is there somewhere for my Whippets and pigeons to stay? They share a room with the kids at home, but on holiday they do like a place of their own, because the kids are a bit untidy.

Making me feel homesick - came south (from Huddersfield) 35 years ago because there were too many bright people up north and it was easy to get a good job down here if you were warm. Still can't get the neighbours to appreciate that a flat cap is more than just a fashion item.

jimmy b - 11 Jan 2006 09:38 - 3408 of 81564

Your welcome Al ,its easy to find ,just ask someone in the village.

hewittalan6 - 11 Jan 2006 09:44 - 3409 of 81564

Partridge,
When I have to be away from the garden of Eden (Yorkshire) for any length of time I always take a recording of Tony Capsticks classic, Capstick Comes Home, with me, to remind me of the wonderful things to await me on my return. It brings a tear to my eye.

And here it is now for anyone who doesn't remember it.

Thanks Alan - wonderful. Think "wazzock" is arguably the finest word in the Yorkshire language. Once had a great day down Gomersal pit with dripping sandwiches for lunch.

Barking Mad you lot - Barking Mad

baz
You need to get one of these.

hewittalan6 - 11 Jan 2006 11:47 - 3414 of 81564

Bos,
I return the favour of an invite to stay, but there is a 50 cover charge and bottles of beer are 6 each where I reside.
However the girls are very entertaining and the wife will chat privately with any gentlemen callers for only 75 per hour.
I am sure you will find the rates very competitive and if you arrive on the first Monday of every other month, most of the sheets are clean too.
