Sound Energy confirms the signature of a binding agreement for the acquisition of a further 50% operated interest in three onshore gas permits located in Morocco (together the "Sidi Moktar Licences") from PetroMaroc Corporation.

It also confirmed the signature of Heads of Agreement for a farm out of Sidi Moktar to Culebra Petroleum Ltd ("Culebra Petroleum") via a partial sale of an intermediate subsidiary of Sound Energy.

The Sidi Moktar Licences cover 2,700 square kilometres in the Essaouira basin, central Morocco and contain a material existing gas discovery in the Lower Liassic ("Kechoula").

Two wells have already been drilled at Kechoula and a near term extended well test is awaited prior to expected commercial production.

Kechoula is close to existing infrastructure and has been estimated to have an unrisked mid case GOIP of 293 Bscf (100% working interest). The Sidi Moktar Licences are also estimated to have significant (in excess of 1 Tcf of unrisked mid case GOIP; 100%) Triassic exploration potential.

Hmm at the moment I am glad I hung on to my shares. However an AIM share with a hole in the ground is a recipe for volatility.

Tendrara Update

Sound Energy, the European / Mediterranean focused upstream gas company is pleased to provide the following update in relation to the Company's Tendrara licence area, onshore Morocco.

As announced by the Company on 6 June 2016, the first Tendrara well (TE-6) was drilled to a measured vertical depth of 2,665 metres and encountered approximately 28 metres of net gas pay in the TAGI reservoir.

The Company confirms that rigless operations continue and that the results are already significantly above Company expectations as a significant stable flow has already been achieved, despite only having accessed so far 18% of the total reservoir and no stimulation having yet been performed.

After completing the initial perforation of 5 metres of the 28 metres of net pay (between 2,601 and 2,606 metres) the well achieved a stable flow rate of 1.36 MMscf/d with a choke of 16/64".

The Company will now complete the remainder of the rigless operation, after which the results will be announced. The results are expected later this month.

James Parsons, Sound Energy's Chief Executive Officer, commented:

"I am absolutely delighted to report what appears to be an early and potentially very material success at the first of our three Strategic Plays.

We eagerly await the post stimulation flow rate but I believe the early results of this first well already both prove a material commercial rate at Tendrara and provide significant early clues as to the regional potential of the Eastern Morocco TAGI reservoir."

This announcement is inside information for the purposes of Article 7 of Regulation 596/2014.

fred49 - 14 Jul 2016 15:45 - 350 of 523

45p is the next calling station. So much potential in the pipeline. Good luck to all holders.

driver - 14 Jul 2016 16:59 - 351 of 523

If the next call was 45p we would all be jumping on this, this could go either way when the results of the drilling are fully out. These oilers are a big gamble take a look at GKP

fred49 - 14 Jul 2016 18:41 - 352 of 523

This is not GKP. 45p within 10 days.

fred49 - 19 Jul 2016 23:32 - 353 of 523
