A HUGE oil discovery has been made in the Falklands, sources claimed last night.
The find, by a British-backed company, could contain up to a BILLION barrels of “black gold” an insider revealed.
The strike, off the Falklands’ southern coast, was made by oil explorer Borders and Southern.
It has been tight-lipped about the discovery — but shares have soared on growing rumours. Borders was unavailable for comment last night but Foreign Office officials refused to deny the news.

RF. its probably why no RNS last week, the government might have slapped a D-Notice on it to get their stuff sorted out. Now thats done BOR are free to release the news :)

You really belive this news....I hope so...but still have doubts....gas...yes...I presume they have discovered some and a working petroleum system yes...but a billion barrels ?.....how reliable is the source ...There will probably be more leaks today I presume if true....

If confirmed : there will be a mention in the commons next week plus I reckon that Sterling might just increase against other currencies a little bit, early in the week....the equivalent of another North Sea......it would have dramatic consequences for the Falklands and the UK as a whole....jobs....and the balance of payments .....fingers crossed that it's correct...

FOGL has the biggest licenses, BOR are second. RKH might be third or equal with DES.
Just look at this map to show how BIG FOGL AND BOR license area's are.

It does not say what kind of liquid which means either oil (heavy or light) or gas condensate
