THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Morning all.
Got me ticket for tonight.
Going to that great mecca of football, Leeds v Wigan. For those of you unfamiliar with football this is an epic clash along the lines of Port Vale v Preston North End and other clashes of the titans.
The Leeds manager has asked me to bring my boots along, cos if we're as crap as last weekend, I might get a game in the second half.

alan, i'm sure there's a film out about some virgins fighting. now that's a real clash of the tight 'uns........
how do you know when a wigan girl is cumming?
she drops her pie!!!!!
i believe wigan have hired a mini-bus and a taxi to bring their fans over.

hewittalan6 - 17 Jan 2006 11:35 - 3501 of 81564

I know they've booked their seats cos the Leeds chaurman phoned me to ask if he could borrow our settee for them instead of opening a stand.
Should be a good turnout.

lol.
btw, i have to say i'm quite happy with saturday's result. it got fergie angry and he's a far better manager when he's angry than when he tries to be clever. i mean , what kind of fool leaves smith on the bench and puts a new signing straight on in a derby match!! so, i was happy to see him fuming at the end.

hewittalan6 - 17 Jan 2006 12:00 - 3503 of 81564

Do you think its time for Fergie to hang up anorak and sit in a TV studio instead? He seems to be getting more and more detatched, and I think squad rotation is great when you are riding high, but when times are tough, surely you need the best 11 every week and a bit of consistency.
Not that I can say anything cos Leeds field a crap 11 every week and think consistency is a term used in baking.

i think fergie is doing fine. he's building a new team , lots of good young players and the form this season has been generally good. big problem is infront of goal, goals to chances ratio needs improving, so buying a few defenders surprised me. saha's played 3 matches so he's due an injury soon, and ruud van donkeyroy isn't van the man anymore. personally, i'd like to see rossi play more.

jimmy b - 17 Jan 2006 12:58 - 3505 of 81564

Like that about the Wigan girl bos , ,i can't join in i don't know anything about football.

hewittalan6 - 17 Jan 2006 13:01 - 3506 of 81564

Well its a good job we're discussing Leeds and Man Utd, cos they know nowt about footy either.

bosley - 17 Jan 2006 13:01 - 3507 of 81564

neither do we. that's the great thing about football, you can talk absolute bollocks and your opinion is still valid. bit like shares , actually. :)

jimmy b - 17 Jan 2006 13:03 - 3508 of 81564

Alright then ,i reckon we should put nobby stiles up front ,or on the left wing .

bosley - 17 Jan 2006 13:03 - 3509 of 81564

all we need now is some bird saying footballers have got nice legs and the discussion is complete!!

driver - 17 Jan 2006 13:05 - 3510 of 81564

If we cant have politics we cant have football or shares, that limits it a bit.

driver - 17 Jan 2006 13:07 - 3511 of 81564

Who's nobby stiles

bosley - 17 Jan 2006 13:08 - 3512 of 81564

furniture?

jimmy b - 17 Jan 2006 13:08 - 3513 of 81564

While we are talking about nice legs ....

What are you on about driver ,,there's plenty of scope without those subjects .

hewittalan6 - 17 Jan 2006 13:08 - 3514 of 81564

To be honest, Bos, I see Man Utd at a huge crossroads at the moment. It reminds me so much of Leeds a few seasons back. Talented youngsters and not doing too badly, but it only takes one or two duff signings (and Alex has made a few of those) and a season or so of not winning things and the talented kids go elsewhere.
This happened to Leeds and coupled with a 90million debt we nearly went out of existence. Man Utds debt is 670 million. It really won't take much.
Having said that, Man Utd are big enough that if they can get back to winning ways they should recover.

Oh good greif. I go away and compose a sensible post for a thread thats gone quiet and suddenly the worlds partying and putting up piccies of mucky wimmin.
Nice to have the thread back at its best!!

Driver,
We can have politics, it just has to be funny.
That automatically debars any reference to Maggie, cos there could never be anything funny about that old bag.
