Range going hard in Georgia
09/05/2012 AIM outfit Range Resources (RRL) has provided an update of its activities in Georgia.
The oil and gas play reported that estimates at the Tkibuli-Shaori filed placed the amount of recoverable gas at 400 billion cubic feet, of which Range's 40 per cent stake is worth 160 billion cubic feet. Range added that sand horizons had already been identified around the coal beds.
Range also declared that it had signed an agreement with the Georgian Industrial Group concerning the joint development of the project, enthusing that GIG is the ‘largest holding company’ in Georgia. Meanwhile drilling at the Namakhvani-1 well was said to be delayed as a result of ‘poor weather conditions’.
Analysts at house broker Panmure Gordon have set a target price of 18p.
The heavily traded concern is currently standing at 8.99p. The mention of 'bad weather' as the reason for the delay in Georgia is unlikely to enthuse investors with confidence with the focus remaining on in its prospects in Puntland, Somalia. The shares remain a speculative buy for now.

Georgia - (Bad weather delay ) The company has perhaps had second thoughts on Georgia, Georgia now on the back burner. We do not need another duster there with the sp as it is. The company can now spend more on TT where every drill to date has results.

Have not got a clue, clunk, click, bang, crash is not really what we need the on lookers seeing or hearing but what the hell. Do you not have a collection of green waste, bottles, papers etc. where you live - I was quite ashamed of putting mine out this evening so I placed some of the none silent glass in carrier bags to disguise what could have been the contents, so passers bye could not examine. Will probably hear the collectors laugh at 7.00 a.m. and count the contents. Who cares we pay enough Council Tax. They are all sodding none drinkers or so they reckon at our Church!!!!!!!!!

Red Emperor Resources (LON:RMP) and Range Resources (LON:RRL) slipped 8.5% and 5% respectively after both companies said they have revised their exploration strategy in Georgia to focus on coal bed methane gas that could generate revenue within 18 months of drilling. The two oil companies, dual-listed in Australia and England, said they will focus on low-cost, shallow appraisal drilling around the Tkibuli-Shaori coal bed methane field. The Tkibuli field has been estimated to contain around 0.4 trillion cubic feet of coal-bed methane gas. By prioritizing exploration around the productive coal seams, the companies have the opportunity to make early discoveries, add proven reserves and look to provide revenue potential from the Tkibuli coal bed methane field within 18 months from the start of drilling. The partners have also executed a conditional agreement with the Georgian Industrial Group regarding the joint development of the project and providing a commercial offtake for 100% of the gas produced. Georgia remains almost entirely dependent on imports of foreign natural gas and gas production from Tkibuli, and therefore, could immediately be fed into the local energy market. Range holds a 40% stake in Blocks 6a and 6b, where the Tkibuli field is located, Red Emperor has a 20% stake and Strait Oil holds the remainder. The next snippet of news from both companies should be another update from drilling at the joint asset in Puntland Somalia.
