and what about FOGL? ....... for all that, though i shall not, if one is sitting on a respectable profit (i am not), then lightening would do no harm - that is assuming this punch and judy show will indeed not be reach judgment for a further 8 weeks ..... i did not expect to it to be anything like that long, but no doubt someone else will corroborate one way or another

Yes, you carry on hyleo...........
Its quite funny that people who post pathetic one liners and silly "going down" etc.. on other stocks they do not hold get agitated when someone does it on a stock they do own.
What goes around, comes around................

cynic, the trouble is whilst the court case might seem silly a this moment, there is bound to be some "smoking guns" out there, and when they are "shown" everything changes, if that is what happens.
With court cases its all about timing, and there could be some juicy revelations much later on which might shock people.........who knows............

P - at least even you post your reasoning even if others (inc me) think it's rubbish - as is one's right ..... imo, and i could easily be wrong, excalibur are merely carpetbaggers

It is never good for a company to have an ongoing court case....that's the reason for the slip...now whether one wants to avoid, hold or buy more is up to the individual.....If I sold I would make a loss as bought higher so have decided to sit this out...not good perhaps but Shaikan is a massive discovery and I like the way this excalibur lot have waited for the discovery to be appraised and such before making a claim.....I wonder if they would have done so if GKP had come up with diddlysquat ?...

I find it interesting that The Times keeps reporting rumours of GKP are trying to settle this case and put an end to the court case.
If those reports are true it may suggest that Exc. do have at least one smoking gun up their sleeve and are letting things run and run in the knowledge they can bring it out anytime they like.
Else why would GKP allegedly be trying to settle quickly, as reported in The Times rumours twice

It probably boils down to : did excalibur put money on the table all those years ago to invest in the GKP operations....my answer is no...then in fact they should forfeit everything that followed...that's the normal way of proceeding for aim companies in the oil and mining business...you get to a stage when finance is necessary anf if you don't come up with the readies the company goes on without you...it happens all the time...the thing is to prove this in court to a judge !....not always easy in the world of high finance...

But RF Shaikan is not that big.
If you put in a recovery factor of 20% from the OIP and then deduct all the taxes, GKP end up with as follows :
If you use a figure of 13 billion barrels of the famous GKP "OIP" (Oil In Place).
Run that with license percentage (54%) and Recovery Factor of 20%, but then GKP will only get 8% of the price of a barrel of oil (all PSC terms) - so taking the 8% into account you get :
13,000,000,000 OIP x 54% (WI) x 20% (RF) and times 8% (PSC) = Net "real value" 112 million barrels of oil to GKP as reserves.
Just 112 million barrels of oil net worth of Shaikan to GKP...............(based on 13 billion OIP figure).

It's a lot more than that Proselenes......the recovery factor over a 20 year period will be much..much higher...don't know about the 8%...where do you get that from ?...
Proselenes

No it will not RF. The recovery factor is based on the oil type, formation - its how much you can recover full stop from the reservoir. Nice light oil and good sands and you can get 30% to 40% recovery. Shaikan with its mix of heavy oil and lower quality sands, maybe 20% or a little higher.
The 8% is the taxation and special KRG deductions, for every barrel of oil produced the money back to the producer is 8% of the sale price.
13 billion Shaikan for GKP is likely "net" of just 112 million barrels at full price, imo.

because P, at a certain price, it is worth GKP getting rid of the carpetbaggers - no doubt what they hope ..... it's like in any business, it is sometimes better to make a "commercial decision" regardless of whether or not one is in the right ..... and as a very good lawyer friend said to me once, "what price principles?"

Nobody is going to believe that with 13 billion barrels ; all GKP will get is just 112 million......you are far too much a ramp/deramp person Prosels....too much one way or the other...

RF, I have given you the figures, you can work out the percentages yourself.......... sometimes people like to avoid the actual truth..........
Why do you think everyone ramps "13 billion OIP" and everyone ignores license percentage, tax and PSC, recovery factor..................

as i've always said - the pity is the location of the oip - held this company back for ages now and will continue to do so - should be sold eventually at a lowish price v oip to an adventurous major most likely chinese - gla
