If you put in a recovery factor of 20% from the OIP and then deduct all the taxes, GKP end up with as follows :

If you use a figure of 13 billion barrels of the famous GKP "OIP" (Oil In Place).

Run that with license percentage (54%) and Recovery Factor of 20%, but then GKP will only get 8% of the price of a barrel of oil (all PSC terms) - so taking the 8% into account you get :

13,000,000,000 OIP x 54% (WI) x 20% (RF) and times 8% (PSC) = Net "real value" 112 million barrels of oil to GKP as reserves.

Just 112 million barrels of oil net worth of Shaikan to GKP...............(based on 13 billion OIP figure).

It's a lot more than that Proselenes......the recovery factor over a 20 year period will be much..much higher...don't know about the 8%...where do you get that from ?...

No it will not RF. The recovery factor is based on the oil type, formation - its how much you can recover full stop from the reservoir. Nice light oil and good sands and you can get 30% to 40% recovery. Shaikan with its mix of heavy oil and lower quality sands, maybe 20% or a little higher.

The 8% is the taxation and special KRG deductions, for every barrel of oil produced the money back to the producer is 8% of the sale price.

13 billion Shaikan for GKP is likely "net" of just 112 million barrels at full price, imo.

Then there's always the take over factor.,.

because P, at a certain price, it is worth GKP getting rid of the carpetbaggers - no doubt what they hope ..... it's like in any business, it is sometimes better to make a "commercial decision" regardless of whether or not one is in the right ..... and as a very good lawyer friend said to me once, "what price principles?"

hi peter .... good to hear from you again ..... for myself with GKP, i'll just sit and wait .... imo, GKP is more likely to win the day in court, though they may make a "commercial settlement" for peace and quiet - very much what excalibur would like, i am sure ..... once that is cleared away, the market will decide what shaikan and thus GKP is worth ..... meanwhile P's ramblings (or even my own), and hyleo's unsupported rubbish (probably no true position anyway) have no effect at all, whether or not subsequently proven right or wrong with regard to sp itself
