Time to Switch into ITV (ITV)

JRM - 17 Jul 2006 13:05

ITV must now be a bargain. The current team clearly are an issue but you'd think the big American companies would recognise the bargain.

The yield is also high and can be reinvested. That really does limit the down side. You can even win here if it drops further!

Very true, you would have thought the FT would employ better informed writers

...show yet another impressive performance by ITV and the forward guidance statement is even more positive !

Cue FT and Berenberg for their moronic views once again !

It seem's the drop in advertiseing and a slight drop in viewing and the 24hour strike has spooked investers , on top of profit taking for the year.

Nonetheless, by talking about a tie-up for the first time, Mr Malone has indicated a significant change in thinking. Less than a year ago, he was talking up Liberty’s push into “content” — TV shows and sports rights. There was speculation the company might increase its 6.4 per cent stake in ITV, the UK’s biggest private broadcaster. Any talk of a potential deal with mobile operator Vodafone was brushed aside because Liberty was “not for sale”.

His latest comments do not amount to putting up a for-sale sign, said James Britton, an analyst at Nomura, but they do put “pressure on Vodafone’s board”.
