SD,
Excellent post, thanks for your Dogs Thoughts! You made the point that some were complaining that we were going nowhere as the oil price rises. I agree with your thoughts looking as to where we have came from and to where we hopefully will be heading to. As to the sp action over the last few months, I think we held up pretty well considering the mark down in a lot of the small caps over the last few months. I'd rather go nowhere than down any day.
As to oil flowing from Chinguetti from end 2005. That would be a boost and ahead of schedule, however I think it is forecast to start production at start 2006. Once again, a good post, cheers.

Sorry I'm a few days behind, but regarding Manspread trading, they offer many more shares than listed on the site, and gave me an additional 17 page list at a trade fair. If you ask them they'll probably put what you want on.

cheers..that is most helpful sir. the fact that they charge about 8 basis points versus IG index 23bps it is a no brainer!
i will call and hopefully get the same list.

What type of shares are you talking about for a 23 point spread with IG? I only use them for trading small caps as they seem to have the widest coverage. Do Man cover SEY for example and what are their margins like?

i will look into it...
i was just comparing 350 spreads of touch versus bid and offer at man and IG. IG was 23 approx and Man was roughly 8 points...set up and account and compare it, it is certainly worth exploring especially since i have just set up a GNI account.

Cheers. If you are using a GNI account then I would think they will beat all the spreadbetters prices. I assume you are talking about the top 350 shares, which for which IG's spreads are garbage. Looks like a significant difference between Man and IG there. I dont use IG for trading large caps.

same here, it is just for some ultra short term stuff to swerve the CGT whicj i am liable for on GNI..

Take a look at Capitalspreads, might be ideal if your looking for short term stuff. Using then just now and seem ok. Spreads are I think a small bit better than Man, and far better than IG!

Cheers, looking forward to seeing the full list. If they cover everything over a 6m Market cap then they do indeed look interesting as they should better IG's prices. They cover above a 20m market cap if I remember correctly.

Fundy,
Got my letter a few weeks ago but not too keen on taking part on these types of new issues so never registered my intent. Personally I would rather wait and see how it goes once it comes onto the market. Since I didnt register my intent, haven't been able to look at the numbers, but someone on TMF did a quick run over them which may be of interest to you. Are you going to take part in it?
