gavdfc,

Proptrade
Sorry I'm a few days behind, but regarding Manspread trading, they offer many more shares than listed on the site, and gave me an additional 17 page list at a trade fair. If you ask them they'll probably put what you want on.

proptrade - 14 Apr 2005 12:24 - 3729 of 7811

cheers..that is most helpful sir. the fact that they charge about 8 basis points versus IG index 23bps it is a no brainer!

i will call and hopefully get the same list.

What type of shares are you talking about for a 23 point spread with IG? I only use them for trading small caps as they seem to have the widest coverage. Do Man cover SEY for example and what are their margins like?

proptrade - 14 Apr 2005 14:29 - 3731 of 7811

i will look into it...

i was just comparing 350 spreads of touch versus bid and offer at man and IG. IG was 23 approx and Man was roughly 8 points...set up and account and compare it, it is certainly worth exploring especially since i have just set up a GNI account.

gavdfc - 14 Apr 2005 14:37 - 3732 of 7811

Cheers. If you are using a GNI account then I would think they will beat all the spreadbetters prices. I assume you are talking about the top 350 shares, which for which IG's spreads are garbage. Looks like a significant difference between Man and IG there. I dont use IG for trading large caps.

proptrade - 14 Apr 2005 15:27 - 3733 of 7811

same here, it is just for some ultra short term stuff to swerve the CGT whicj i am liable for on GNI..

gavdfc - 14 Apr 2005 15:43 - 3734 of 7811

Take a look at Capitalspreads, might be ideal if your looking for short term stuff. Using then just now and seem ok. Spreads are I think a small bit better than Man, and far better than IG!

proptrade - 14 Apr 2005 15:51 - 3735 of 7811

just spoke to man spreads. they cover everything over 6 million mkt cap! when i get a list i will send it over (monday)...cheers for the heads up!

gavdfc - 14 Apr 2005 16:00 - 3736 of 7811

Cheers, looking forward to seeing the full list. If they cover everything over a 6m Market cap then they do indeed look interesting as they should better IG's prices. They cover above a 20m market cap if I remember correctly.

Fundamentalist - 14 Apr 2005 16:08 - 3737 of 7811

for all those who use Ig, any of you looking to participate in their listing later this month?

gavdfc - 14 Apr 2005 16:13 - 3738 of 7811

Fundy,

Got my letter a few weeks ago but not too keen on taking part on these types of new issues so never registered my intent. Personally I would rather wait and see how it goes once it comes onto the market. Since I didnt register my intent, haven't been able to look at the numbers, but someone on TMF did a quick run over them which may be of interest to you. Are you going to take part in it?

proptrade - 14 Apr 2005 16:38 - 3739 of 7811

looks expensive. i registered but probably won't participate. every punter will have some for a flip and if luck will earn tuppance. not worth the agro IMVHO.

seawallwalker - 14 Apr 2005 16:48 - 3740 of 7811

12 million buys reported after hours.......................

There go some more little sells grouped togther, out of the way.

Andy - 14 Apr 2005 17:32 - 3741 of 7811

proptrade,

Do man spreads cover NML please?

SWW,

yes it does look as though someone is accumulating.

Fundamentalist - 14 Apr 2005 18:00 - 3742 of 7811

gav/prop

thanks for that - havent read in detail as yet - make take part if the numbers add up

grandadg90 - 15 Apr 2005 09:34 - 3743 of 7811

sandrew64 - 15 Apr 2005 10:58 - 3744 of 7811
