Chart.aspx?Provider=EODIntra&Code=BLNX&S

With video search set to be the next big growth area BLNX have the software the likes of Microsoft, Google and NewsCorp would love to have.

In fact BLNX have done deals with most of these, the most recent being the UtargetFox deal which has been reported in the USA but not RNS'd in the UK.

Alexa rankings confirm the continued growth in usage as its viral effect spreads:-

The ITN RNS confirms blnx is the best in the market and is growing fast:-

Leading News Organization ITN Extends Advertising Deal with blinkx Based on Proven Campaign Success

blinkx Selected to Power Advertising across ITN Website and Syndication Partner Sites

SAN FRANCISCO, CALIF. - July 2, 2008 - blinkx, the world's largest and most advanced video search engine, today announced that it has won an extension contract that will augment the scope of its advertising partnership with ITN, one of the world's leading news and multimedia content companies. Under the terms of the new agreement, ITN will use AdHoc, blinkx's patented contextual advertising platform for online TV and video, to serve advertisements on the ITN website and its syndication partner sites, including Bebo.

Through AdHoc, ITN has already been effectively monetizing its premium news content on the blinkx.com network for over six months. During this time, ITN achieved a significantly better return, greater search volume, and higher monetization through blinkx than through other syndication partners.

AdHoc uses blinkx's patented speech-to-text transcription and visual analysis technology to understand video content more thoroughly and effectively than any other service today, and can therefore dynamically place the most pertinent advertising against it. The AdHoc platform offers media companies and advertisers a unique value proposition -- video advertising which combines the emotive power of TV promotion, with the relevance and utility of contextual search advertising.

The confluence of ITN's premium TV content, blinkx's extensive syndication network, and AdHoc's uniquely powerful targeting capabilities was a formula for success. By extending its partnership with blinkx, ITN aims to achieve similar returns by leveraging the AdHoc platform to deliver contextually relevant video advertising on its own website and across its distribution partner sites.

'We're thrilled to be broadening our relationship with ITN,' said Suranga Chandratillake, founder and CEO of blinkx. 'News content is one of the most popular categories of online video and there's clearly a tremendous opportunity for monetization. The success of our partnership with ITN is evidence that the blinkx AdHoc platform is a uniquely powerful solution for online video advertising today.'

'We've been delighted with the results of our partnership with blinkx and are looking forward to implementing the AdHoc technology on our site,' said Nicholas Wheeler, managing director, ITN On. 'blinkx AdHoc has proven that it can achieve significant monetization of our content, effective marketing for advertisers and, most importantly, a useful, non-disruptive experience for our audience.'

As a pioneer in video search technology, blinkx has built a reputation as the most effective way to search new forms of online content such as video. With more than 350 partners and 26 million hours of indexed video and audio content, including favorite TV moments, news clips, short documentaries, music videos, video blogs and more, blinkx uses advanced speech recognition technology to deliver results that are more accurate and reliable than standard metadata-based keyword searches.

markets are looking very pissy, so can't see why blnx should buck the trend at this time

Cynic...Todays trades totalled 535... 293 of those trades were in the last 2 hours after my post ...prior to 2-30 there were only 242 trades......
At 2-30 the volume was buy 1,011,628 vs. 796,035 sell...in the last 2 hours the volume was buy 2,349,367 vs. 280,434.....
Impressive buying in the last few hours...but I still end up looking an arse! Someone got my hunch wrong?

A lot of buying, later on suggests an up day tomorrow.

Guess who was responsible for this quote !
Question
What is the difference between a pessimist and an optimist
Answer
A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty

Answers on a postcard

Toya - 14 Apr 2011 19:08 - 3738 of 6187

Hence: the optimist invented the aeroplane, and the pessimist the parachute. Or, to quote Oscar Wilde: "Between the optimist and the pessimist, the difference is droll. The optimist sees the doughnut; the pessimist the hole!"

Cynic, answer is: because it's not a 'pissy' share

chessplayer - 15 Apr 2011 09:01 - 3739 of 6187

The answer to the above question , by the way ,is Winston Churchill.

I feel sure that Cynic must be saying that holes have their uses. That is of course to imply the " Sinking of Shafts!"

Check out SHFT

Toya - 15 Apr 2011 09:08 - 3740 of 6187

... and Winston rightly chose to be an optimist: "It does not seem too much use being anything else".

I did rather wonder which side cynic might choose to be on, when faced with a choice between the hole and the doughnut...!

Toya,
You mentioned Oscar Wilde a few posts back. He said something like this about a cynic A cynic is someone who knows the cost of everything, but the value of nothing !

cynic - 15 Apr 2011 10:15 - 3742 of 6187

i don't really do doughnutting - lacks emotional involvement!

cynic - 15 Apr 2011 10:24 - 3743 of 6187

3741 - certainly applied to my late unlamented father-in-law

chessplayer - 15 Apr 2011 16:05 - 3744 of 6187

Tabby,
it appears that you have called the pickup correctly, yet again.- albeit a day late . Never mind , give the man a cigar!

What's that you say, you don't smoke.

Toya - 15 Apr 2011 18:59 - 3745 of 6187

A hadn't known that about a cynic, Chessplayer - good quote!

And Cynic: I'm surprised to see you talk about 'emotional involvement'! I thought you said you didn't have a heart?

Anyway: BLNX certainly seems to be motoring now; so glad I've exercised patience for a change!

cynic - 15 Apr 2011 20:01 - 3746 of 6187

ah well, you can't believe everything i say

Bernard M - 18 Apr 2011 07:08 - 3747 of 6187

I heard you like sword crossing.

chessplayer - 20 Apr 2011 20:42 - 3748 of 6187

Is there any connection with Blinkbox ? I see that Tesco has bought an 80% share in Blinkbox

Toya - 21 Apr 2011 07:27 - 3749 of 6187

Blinkbox allows users to preview, buy and rent full length premium movies and TV shows online... So I wouldn't have thought any connection other than the similarity in name.

However, BlinkBox may very well do/have done a deal with Blinkx to enable their customers to search for the particular item they want - e.g. if they can't remember the title but do know little snippets from the programme/film

cynic - 21 Apr 2011 09:48 - 3750 of 6187

gone ballistic this morning and with huge volume - that is to say, average daily volume already passed ..... doesn't necessarily mean anything's afoot, but certainly worth flagging

tabasco - 21 Apr 2011 11:04 - 3751 of 6187

Cynic Im rich beyond my wildest dreams...always wanted to say that after the famous Robbie chirp!

chessplayer - 21 Apr 2011 11:43 - 3752 of 6187

Tabby,
I recall you saying a good while back about cashing in when the results come out. Are you still of the same opinion ?

tabasco - 21 Apr 2011 11:54 - 3753 of 6187

Chess...I will be selling half my holding on 2 or thereabouts...that has always been the plan...the rest stays for the latter years...the wifes Jimmy Choos and my kids inheritance. lol.. And yourself?

tabasco - 21 Apr 2011 11:59 - 3754 of 6187

Not forgetting I have practically bought on every dip....hmmmmmm....nice!...must remember to thank the king of the shorts AKA Elephant Man...along with Hilary and haystack for those very easy pickings...
