My question might have been answered by a rumour in the FT today that Johnson & Johnson are the mystery bidder at 30p+ - the price seems incredibly low so perhaps the rumour is simply someone flying a kite.

1704 - 27 Jan 2005 11:36 - 378 of 1451

Pachandl

Up she goes that's a reference to the kite and the share price

rvitler - 27 Jan 2005 14:03 - 379 of 1451

Surely with that announcement a bid must be coming tomorrow morning - hope to see it marked up above 30p tomorrow

accord - 27 Jan 2005 14:31 - 380 of 1451

30p tomorrow will need another 10% rise from current prices. Feasible......? could be

accord - 27 Jan 2005 14:36 - 381 of 1451

There is 2:1 more sells than buys today and the price is holding steady at 26.5p

Interesting stuff I think, looking forward to see hows this one pans out

rvitler - 27 Jan 2005 15:29 - 382 of 1451

MMs know, they want the stock, expect big mark up tomorrow. Someone's mopping up the stock.

ethel - 27 Jan 2005 16:24 - 383 of 1451

Who is mopping up this stock if there are more sells than buys?My nerves can't stand any more,so I am out, with a 30% profit. But,this has been a horrible ride since I bought in June 2004.Also,I never considered that OXB is probably involved in animal experiments...don't like to consider that one.

rvitler - 27 Jan 2005 16:43 - 384 of 1451

normally if the price is still rising on sells the mms have a buyer, so i reckon tomorrow am may be interesting

1704 - 27 Jan 2005 17:59 - 385 of 1451

According to the Digital Look website Share Price Performance of OXB:

Today (11.34%), 1 Day Change(17.39%) 7 Days Change (18.68%) 14 Days Change
(54.29%)

Not bad going is it? and there should be more rises to come over the next
week. According to the Growth Company Investor website some large institutions
are still investing in the stock.

Company Announcements (27/01/05)

Man Financial Ltd (Rule 8/250,000 bought at 23.50p)

Lazard and Company (Panmure Gordon) (EMM Disclosure/ 204,334 bought at
23.50p)

Credit Agricole S.A. (Rule 8/ 1,100,000 bought at 24.50p)

All of the above institutions have been increasing their holdings in OXB over the past week. Why?

Personally its been a great fortnight for me I hope the rally in the share
price continues to gather momentum and breaks the 30p level. Then the fun will
really begin.

Price level support at 17p and resistance level at 97.25p spot on.

hlyeo98 - 27 Jan 2005 19:17 - 386 of 1451

This is a sure share to buy...at this cheap price 26p....as it will be a bid soon

1704 - 27 Jan 2005 21:18 - 387 of 1451

Hyyeo98

I agree with your comment 100%

I wonder if the Fund Manager at Prelude Trust is still in a job after selling
such large amounts on the 19th and 24th Jan 05? If only he/she had held on for
few more days (tee hee tee hee!)

Great! Its pay day for me tommorrow. I cannot wait until 8am to ring my broker
and buy some more OXB shares and add to my holding. Tee hee tee hee.

1704 - 28 Jan 2005 10:52 - 388 of 1451

Morning All!

Personally not a good one for me so far. Rang the Bank this morning only to
be told my wages have not yet been paid (Grrrrrrrrr). Good thing I rang me
Broker shortly after 8am and put a stop loss on OXB at 26.38p. Only to find
out they sold 176,177 at 8.31am at 26p (Grrrrrrrrrr). The weather is horrible
and I was late bringing my son to Nursery before heading for work (Grrrrrrr)
On top of this my beloved reds lost the semi-final on Wednesday and another
stock I had my eye on has soared ahead this morning above the levels I want to
buy into (Grrrrrrrr)

Overall on reflection I should not have too much complaints especially regarding OXB. I bought into the stock at around 17-18p, 21, 23 and 26p less than 28 days ago and have banked a nice profit. Now I will be keeping my eyes to the screen and decide at what levels I will dive back into the stock.

I tell you this rollercoaster of emotions beats going to the fun fair. I only hope OXB are developing drugs for high blood pressure and dodgy tickers.

Top ah the morning to ya.

Barry Harris - 28 Jan 2005 12:15 - 389 of 1451

Wasn`t there to be a magor announcement Wed ? Have I missed it

pachandl - 28 Jan 2005 16:06 - 390 of 1451

Still no announcements but there is talk in the papers that OXB's merger partner might be of equal size (and not even listed!). If so, 1704's call this morning might prove extremely clever - if not, then no San Lorenzo's for 1704 next week. Have a good weekend all - will post if I hear anything more.

1704 - 28 Jan 2005 16:35 - 391 of 1451

Pachandl

Good to hear from you. I'm itching to get back in and I was not expecting the
price drop this morning to have prevented me from buying in. I am still
confident that there will be some more upward movement next week. I just hope
I can get back in at lower price levels than now to make some more money.

Past experience of suffering heavy losses in other stocks have taught me to
to be a bit more cautious and to lock in capital gains by setting stop losses.
However, like you I'm continuing to monitor the situation and hope I can catch
the next rise.
Not been a great day for me so far (Grrrrrrrrrrr) and I'm back to eating the
meal deal offers at Greggs Bakery Story instead of living it large
at San Lorenzo's (Grrrrrrrrr)

Have a good weekend

Fred1new - 28 Jan 2005 18:52 - 392 of 1451

Pach, A little patience and you may have two holidays San Lorenzo's . I hope that San Lorenzo's is not a hospital!!!! %-)

1704 - 28 Jan 2005 19:46 - 393 of 1451

Evening All!

Perked up a bit now after having a look on the Growth Company Investor website
which showed company announcements for OXB.

Man Financial Ltd, Credit Agricole S.A., UBS AG and two companies linked with
Boris Jordon (Sulidad Investment and Trade and Sputnik) were still
continuing to build up their stakes yesterday. They were purchasing stock at
between 25.87p -27p.

Do they know something we do not? Why are they continuing to add to their
holdings on a daily basis and pay whatever the market price is?

Next week will be very interesting will the price accelerate up or continue to
fall? Will I pull tonight or not? No don't answer that one please.

Enjoy your weekends. Next week the drama continues.

pachandl - 28 Jan 2005 20:16 - 394 of 1451

1704 - for relatively short-term holders looking for quick gains it would certainly help if OXB was being courted by a big pharma. I will look out for any news in the weekend papers - although probably it will simply be more conjecture and unfounded rumour.

1704 - 28 Jan 2005 21:10 - 395 of 1451

Pachandl

Good to hear from you and as usual I fully agree with your observation.

When I first invested in the stock less than a month ago I saw it as a long
term hold. How was I to know a merger or take over bid would occur (still not
sure what type of talks are taking place or who the other company is)? Don't
get me wrong I'm not really complaining. After all I've banked a nice and
quick gain.

However, it is interesting to see that certain institutions are continuing to
invest whether the price rises or drops. Are they being shrewd or reckless?
Is it a big pharma negotiating with OXB or a company the same size? Some
people are in on the know but I'm not one of them (Grrrrrrrr).

Although I am intrigued by the actions of these investors I would not base my
own decisions on their buying. I remember last year when a large American
Investor (K Capital) was stake building in Jarvis PLC viewing it as a recovery
play needless to say they lost millions.

I will also be skimming through all the papers over the weekend and flicking
through the Bloomberg TV Business Channel. In fact I will be on annual leave
and so will be able to watch Bloomberg TV for longer periods than I can now.

The current merger/bid talks are real 'cloak and dagger' stuff and know information about the progress of the talks seems to be leaking out. Not sure it will be any different this weekend.

I cannot wait for Monday morning when the market opens.Let the fun begin.

pachandl - 29 Jan 2005 15:28 - 396 of 1451

Dragged off to the shops today but checked the standard websites/papers on my return -certainly no indication of anything on OXB, rumour or fact. Perhaps tomorrow? Still, at least one of my other holdings, SKP, got a mention in the FT today so can't complain.
