BLINX and you've missed it, the next google multi bagger!!! (BLNX)

Still Waiting - 25 Jul 2008 23:22

Chart.aspx?Provider=EODIntra&Code=BLNX&S

With video search set to be the next big growth area BLNX have the software the likes of Microsoft, Google and NewsCorp would love to have.

In fact BLNX have done deals with most of these, the most recent being the UtargetFox deal which has been reported in the USA but not RNS'd in the UK.

Alexa rankings confirm the continued growth in usage as its viral effect spreads:-

The ITN RNS confirms blnx is the best in the market and is growing fast:-

Leading News Organization ITN Extends Advertising Deal with blinkx Based on Proven Campaign Success

blinkx Selected to Power Advertising across ITN Website and Syndication Partner Sites

SAN FRANCISCO, CALIF. - July 2, 2008 - blinkx, the world's largest and most advanced video search engine, today announced that it has won an extension contract that will augment the scope of its advertising partnership with ITN, one of the world's leading news and multimedia content companies. Under the terms of the new agreement, ITN will use AdHoc, blinkx's patented contextual advertising platform for online TV and video, to serve advertisements on the ITN website and its syndication partner sites, including Bebo.

Through AdHoc, ITN has already been effectively monetizing its premium news content on the blinkx.com network for over six months. During this time, ITN achieved a significantly better return, greater search volume, and higher monetization through blinkx than through other syndication partners.

AdHoc uses blinkx's patented speech-to-text transcription and visual analysis technology to understand video content more thoroughly and effectively than any other service today, and can therefore dynamically place the most pertinent advertising against it. The AdHoc platform offers media companies and advertisers a unique value proposition -- video advertising which combines the emotive power of TV promotion, with the relevance and utility of contextual search advertising.

The confluence of ITN's premium TV content, blinkx's extensive syndication network, and AdHoc's uniquely powerful targeting capabilities was a formula for success. By extending its partnership with blinkx, ITN aims to achieve similar returns by leveraging the AdHoc platform to deliver contextually relevant video advertising on its own website and across its distribution partner sites.

'We're thrilled to be broadening our relationship with ITN,' said Suranga Chandratillake, founder and CEO of blinkx. 'News content is one of the most popular categories of online video and there's clearly a tremendous opportunity for monetization. The success of our partnership with ITN is evidence that the blinkx AdHoc platform is a uniquely powerful solution for online video advertising today.'

'We've been delighted with the results of our partnership with blinkx and are looking forward to implementing the AdHoc technology on our site,' said Nicholas Wheeler, managing director, ITN On. 'blinkx AdHoc has proven that it can achieve significant monetization of our content, effective marketing for advertisers and, most importantly, a useful, non-disruptive experience for our audience.'

As a pioneer in video search technology, blinkx has built a reputation as the most effective way to search new forms of online content such as video. With more than 350 partners and 26 million hours of indexed video and audio content, including favorite TV moments, news clips, short documentaries, music videos, video blogs and more, blinkx uses advanced speech recognition technology to deliver results that are more accurate and reliable than standard metadata-based keyword searches.

That figure is a bit superficial. How long has this number been at that level? How many repeat viewers? Having only 5,000 videos, a lot of which are old ITN news items won't keep them going. More likely they managed 70 million once and once only. The 70 million are spread across YouTube, Yahoo! and MSN. It won't necessarily contribute much to Blinkx. Blinkx announcements are always hyped to the sky. It is still a greatly over-valued company.

market clearly doesn't agree with you at all - don't try to piss against the wind ..... poor old gausie kept trying it at the beginning of the year and just got a soaking for his troubles

Haystack is obviously a man who cannot grasp the meaning of the word POTENTIAL.
And that of course is what the stock market is all about.
He strikes me as a man whose motto should be, " Don't confuse me with the facts, my mind is made up!! " A pitty really. Still, nobody is perfect.

As a post script to the above, I should like to add the following remark, which was inspired by Cynic's last remark!

When I worked for the Personnel branch of The Post Office there were 2 brothers whose names were " P. Spray "and " C. Spray".

I once remarked to a lady colleague that there was not much difference in the taste. But of course, if one has to make a choice on which one to taste most would opt for the latter.
Haystacks strikes me as one who might opt for the former .

In other words, there is a lot of difficulty in accounting for ones' TASTE !

I think it is more about what we are actually discussing. I am sure that the share price will go up short and medium term. I am also sure that most people who are holdding now will at least make paper profits over those time frames. However, if we are talking about a long term business and the business model then I have a low opinion of Blinkx.

That's funny. My feelings on the matter are precisely the other way round !

Bernard M - 15 Jun 2011 07:50 - 3814 of 6187

Sell in May and go away, looks a good motto for 2011

cynic - 15 Jun 2011 11:31 - 3815 of 6187

and how long is long?

dealerdear - 15 Jun 2011 16:00 - 3816 of 6187

Long time since I've seen market conditions as bad as this. Everything is getting the life sqeezed out of it. A bit like sub prime but without the crash. Nottingham is a ghost town even sat night and bank hols you could go into a dept store and be just about the only one in there.

What I don't know is whether this is a forerunner to a big crash as a truely awsome credit sqeeze hits us/debt faults or whether it is a temporary state of affairs where the minnows in particuar are not being allowed to rise.

Bernard M - 16 Jun 2011 11:27 - 3817 of 6187

Looks like shorters have it today and with the strikes coming it is good to be short, little good news coming.

jeffmack - 16 Jun 2011 12:37 - 3818 of 6187

Bloody lemming,

Share prices do not go up or down in a straight line. Why must you always blame shorters for a share price going down.

Bernard M - 16 Jun 2011 12:50 - 3819 of 6187

WTF I am a shorter

Bernard M - 20 Jun 2011 09:07 - 3820 of 6187

I hope Tabby sold some at the top.

cynic - 20 Jun 2011 13:21 - 3821 of 6187

BLNX currently stinks - as do so many others at the moment ..... 200 dma is just below 100, and in the present climate, i fear that they may end up being tested

that said, the order books look evenly balanced, so no obvious selling pressure

Bernard M - 20 Jun 2011 15:04 - 3822 of 6187

I blame Greece. Italy, and Spain next imho.

cynic - 20 Jun 2011 15:30 - 3823 of 6187

certainly the potential fall-out from greece is horrific, though i guess at the 11th hour some unpalatable deal will be cobbled together ..... at least uk is not expected to shell out cash

dealerdear - 20 Jun 2011 16:03 - 3824 of 6187

Our banks may have to if they are invested there!

cynic - 20 Jun 2011 16:11 - 3825 of 6187

the banks have no obligation to lend more though "we" have an ultimate liability under certain guarantees if/when greece actually defaults

dealerdear - 20 Jun 2011 16:22 - 3826 of 6187

no I meant some of them are probably already invested there in what may well turn out to be bad debt.

cynic - 20 Jun 2011 16:25 - 3827 of 6187

you're quite right; they are but the quantum by bank is already in the public domain
