Why the big dip on this one this morning???

People taking profits.....

Bound to be a friday sell off if no news today. I'm tempted to trade a few to get out my stake but I'd guess they'll move back up at the close as news must be so close--I think they must be at target depth and know what they've got !

rf... I could understand profit taking, but I was suprised by the short sharp dip (which invoked my 5p stop) then the quick rise.

that's always the problem with stops .... one often gets a sharp blip with an unwanted result

cynic.... re Stops... what's the alternative, as I'm not at the screen all day I like to protect against sudden crashes?

Dovegang...if you are playing this one in spreads or cfd's...careful : no oil in quantity at the bottom and you will be stuffed, stops or no stops....it will plunge before you can trade out and your order will be dealt at the bottom...that's alright on the way up but when it drops you will get your fingers burned...better to switch into shares from now.

I've taken a few profits here because I had so many...but still in with a large amount (for me anyway).... will stay put now until RNS....there are a lot of us in this so we must pray that there is something positive in this drilling campaign.

No, but took some profits earlier on today, but still very much loaded with this stock, perhaps 20% less in total than start of play. I will not be a happy bunny if this crashes back to 20p.

I will, it'll give me an opportunity to get back in, I sold out too early (but at a nice profit), FWIW I don't think it will drop that far although if the Iraqi Gov. deem the export contract illegal then it certainly would drop.

From what I understand, nothing is to be decided for 6 months at least and then there is a good chance of everything being declared valid, but in Iraq nothing is certain as we all know : just look at Petrel Resources...though their sp has shot up now that I'm out of it.

Yes, about 40% ish up from recent lows when even cynic suggested a purchase 'if you must' in PET, still you made a profit rf. GKP, profit taking was bound to happen given the meteoric rise again this week, good luck to all who held their nerve and still hold.

guess we are all watching for the RNS.....and keeping quiet

this stock has been ramped like hell since they announced their oil discovery!!--i know two friends of mine who got in on the act--150,000 bght at 18p and my other more wealthy chum bght 1,000,000 at 22p--be very careful now as anything could happen i am told!!---definitely not for widows and orphans at these levels--better bet is Nighthawk Resources at @ 40p guys!!--look them up!--they are a sensible buy!

first part is true, but though i hold HAWK i'm far from convinced i'ld them a "buy" of any description
