strange little burst for glory at the close (176 per IG L2 platform), but that may prove to be a false level come the morning

Gulf Keystone Petroleum jumped 12¾ – almost 8pc – to 176¾p. One trader suggested the gain could be down to rumours that the High Court is about to throw out a legal claim by Excalibur Ventures that it is entitled to as much as 30pc in Gulf Keystone's assets in the Kurdistan region of northern Iraq. The case began in October and is due to reach a conclusion in January.

Baghdad, Erbil agreed to withdraw troops and replace them with a joint security centers. The final agreement will be signed next Sunday.
December 27, 2012
BAGHDAD,— The final touches for a comprehensive solution between the federal government and Kurdistan region, pointing that the final agreement will be signed next Sunday.
The parliamentary Committee on security and defense announced that the agreement, which took place Wednesday, between the central government and the Kurdistan region on the disputed areas stipulates to withdraw military units outside the administrative boundaries of these areas and replace them with a joint security centers.
Vice Chairman of the Committee, Iskandar Witwit told the National Iraqi News Agency "The joint security stations between the Peshmerga and the Federal army will be with the Joint Coordination Center," adding that this is the best solution for the dilemma.
He accused regional states to push the Kurdistan region, so the state sought to make great efforts for mutual understanding and resolve the crisis once and for all, he says.
The negotiations were resumed Wednesday between the military delegation of the central government and the Kurdistan Regional Government on the withdrawal of their forces from the common areas.
In a press conference held at the Defence Ministry, Minister Saadoun al-Dulaimi announced that the security committees between the two sides reached, through dialogue, a "comprehensive solution to the crisis".
He added that the joint ministerial committee will meet next Sunday to sign the final agreement in Erbil, the capital city of Kurdistan.
The minister did not clarify the means of solution of the crisis that erupted five weeks earlier through army concentrations on both sides.
President Jalal Talabani intervened to solve the crisis before the deterioration of his health.
The crisis erupted after the formation of Dijla Operations Command upon orders from Premier Nouri al-Maliki,www.ekurd.net in his capacity as the Commander of the Armed Forces, which matter was rejected by the Kurdish leadership as a move to control the area by force.

Looks like 172 support confirmed, resistance at 200 though, this share will test support/resistance until legals are announced Q1 2013, theres already too many guesses on which way this will go so I'll just say a sustained break above 200 will reverse short positions currently in play.
