Sticking with directors backing the company, Range Resources (LON:RRL) surged 19% to 7.8p during afternoon trading on big volume after the company said Peter Landau had bought 750,000 shares, and Marcus Edward-Jones had bought 150,000 shares. if he had bought a few million I may have got excited ! so I don't think any good news will be around soon as it may raise a few eyebrows if the SP shot up (we dream !)

dreamcatcher - 22 May 2012 16:31 - 3894 of 5221

Long way to go yet, every little helps.

dreamcatcher - 22 May 2012 16:38 - 3895 of 5221

Horns games play has done a lot of damage to the sp, still heavy selling with the rise today.

gibby - 22 May 2012 16:40 - 3896 of 5221

gibby - 22 May 2012 16:45 - 3898 of 5221

dc mate your conversation with 3ms imo the uk now is as unhealthy as ever before due to poor education the gov selling of grounds for housing cost cut health and safety and other bizarre ideas

dreamcatcher - 22 May 2012 16:50 - 3899 of 5221

Good to have a chat on here gibby, agree. Some of these threads (one not to far from this one now lol) just ramp and ramp at least on this one I see most investors sit in the middle and say if the company is doing cra-. Thats what I like, or indeed if its doing well.

dreamcatcher - 22 May 2012 16:51 - 3900 of 5221

Have you been sitting in the garden today, while we have to work. lol

pumben - 22 May 2012 16:51 - 3901 of 5221

so based on the drilling progress from the first Putland drill, to reach their TD for the 2nd one, if starting in June I make it around 10 weeks (250m) per week.

PL talks about Market conditions and short term investors but he should realise that during market turmoil, smaller companies always struggle because of risk. However, additional failure by the company to deliver on their statements adds to the loss of confidence. He needs to understand that giving aggressive dates and then not meeting them is not good. he would do better and say by end of the 1st 6 months we expect A, B C to be completed and then give updates throughout. In my opinion he oversold Putland in his initial RNS and did not consider investors risk appetite. Personally, I think he knew the 1st well was not going great and hence the early start on preping the 2nd well. He also got the delivery of the testing equipment wrong but again could have been his mirage to build up the SP and so get the Institutionals invovled. again that should have been a sign to us, with the potential that he was suggesting and the SP reaching 16p, he could only get a price of 12p. That said, hopefully they have learnt from their 1st Putland drill and now know that they must drill smaller bore hols so can use the testing equipment. I hope he is honest enough to admit that he also has managed the communication poorly.

dreamcatcher - 22 May 2012 16:56 - 3902 of 5221

Are we just being fed a load of bull on the testing equiptment, Africa oil ( Horn) with the wrong gear hmmm well we have to believe them dont we. Good post pumben

pumben - 22 May 2012 17:19 - 3903 of 5221

here is another example of his poor communication. This is from the quarterly post on 1st May for Colombia:

Colombia

During the quarter the Company announced that it is had secured a
65% farm-in opportunity (350m of 3D seismic, 2 new wells and 1 well re-entry)
on two highly prospective licenses in the on shore Putamayo basin in Southern
Columbia. The finalization of the farm-in agreement is subject to regulatory
approvals with full details to be provided upon regulatory sign offs being
obtained. Range anticipates being able to announce full details of the project
in the next 2 weeks.

Unless I missed the RNS, I would have made 2 weeks being 15th May for the full details of the project, where is it ?

I believe this company has the potential and have invested for the 2 years timeframe but PL has to step up and manage the expectations much better. This is people's hard earned being invested and do what he says and get some value for the shareholders !

dreamcatcher - 22 May 2012 17:58 - 3904 of 5221

Agree p , like we have said in the past he must be under pressure with this sp. I think Range will up its game now. I know PL did not expect a sp fall of 40% + with the poor
Puntland communication RNS, hence the fire fighting next day Puntland with more detail. We have put up with ,mass games play with this company, now it is under pressure to deliver.

Good evening, well at least it ended up blue (makes a change as we know of late). Cannot wait for Thursday afternoon as I keep loosing my connection now with across the road. Long may the sun shine.

Thought you had won the lottery lol You cannot watch the screen all week, go out and forget about shares.

pumben - 22 May 2012 20:06 - 3911 of 5221

so that's the hatrick, RMP, RRL and Horn all raising money for their Putland commitments. They need to deliver or they wont be able to raise much more in the future. Interesting to see that they must hold warrants for only 4 months.
