Could be fillyaboots time, boys!

hilary - 22 Sep 2004 15:53 - 393 of 7811

A quid by Christmas!!

proptrade,

Well they certainly sound confident!

Hilary,

LOL! I'll take 50p!

All,

Any comments on the two large trades at 14:44?

I don't think they were necessarily sells, but am open to convincing!

proptrade - 22 Sep 2004 16:53 - 395 of 7811

Hilary..i like your optimism but i do agree with my old mate Andy that at 50p i would be almost out.

the 2.5 million shares may have been sales but equally could have been a put rhough for some reason (transferring between accounts) or there could be another side to the trade printing later or tomorrow. nothing to be worried about.

gavdfc - 22 Sep 2004 18:32 - 396 of 7811

Surely if they were sales then the price would have dropped? Even if they were sales it doesn't change my opinion on SEY.

proptrade - 23 Sep 2004 09:21 - 397 of 7811

firstly they may have been sales but the MM could have been short, it could have been a partial put through as i mentioned above or the MM was taking a view and has them on his books.

the fact is that even if some punter was tipping out of the stock because of boredem, free up capital or simply other ideas to play, the likeleyhood is that the same "hot money" would have exited at 17p to nick a turn.

all in all, the fact that the price is steady with a couple of chunky sales around is only good news in my books. we can speculate all day but as we all feel on this thread, this name is a solid stock and we should see a high 20's or maybe 50p trade out of this one....if we are patient.

sorry about the long spiel, i just had a few minutes to spare!

keep up the posts chaps

Good post Prop. Patience is the key here. Hot money may come and go, some looking for a quick profit which is fair enough, but that's not for me. IMO the long term holders will be the biggest gainers here.

Mauritania is just starting to kick off with an aggressive drilling program which is of little or no cost to us. In the Gulf of Mexico, looking to double up production possibly, gas and oil prices reaching new highs. 2005E figures look excellent to me and the results to be released soon will no doubt also be good. Lots of potential here and lots to get excited about, all IMO of course.

proptrade - 23 Sep 2004 10:02 - 399 of 7811

of course IMO..i do love that saying.

i also await the results in anticipation. It is this free carry upside that is so damn attractive. do you know the date of the results?

gavdfc - 23 Sep 2004 10:14 - 400 of 7811

Asked them the date and was told either 24th or 25th. Since the 25th is Saturday would assume we get them tomorrow. Would expect a write up on Oil Barrel on Monday if results out tomorrow. Also good chance of an update in Shares IC etc. IMO of course! lol

hilary - 23 Sep 2004 10:27 - 401 of 7811

Calm down boys. There's been a largish background seller holding this back for a few weeks now.

proptrade - 23 Sep 2004 10:52 - 402 of 7811

i am not sure about that...i think that if there is an overhang then when cleared these will spring up when cleared. who knows how large the block is they are selling...maybe mm's will find the other side with the prospective good news on the horizon.

seawallwalker - 23 Sep 2004 11:48 - 403 of 7811

This share always goes down when the price of oil goes up.

That is the pattern.

No panics here, I amy have a few more if it drop another 1/4p

seawallwalker - 23 Sep 2004 11:52 - 404 of 7811

That happened quicker than I thought, just slipped under 15.50, so I have taken advatage by another 20000.

All this after making a few quid on Hardman this morning ;-)

proptrade - 23 Sep 2004 12:01 - 405 of 7811

like it...putting your money where your mouth is. nice one.

not sure i agree with the oil price/share price correlation though....

seawallwalker - 23 Sep 2004 12:06 - 406 of 7811

Well it is a pattern I have noticed, I may be wrong, would not be the first time!

Big Al has just commented on the PCI thread, the the FBB is poplated by a bunch of goons, that is more near the mark I reckon.

:-)

proptrade - 23 Sep 2004 12:20 - 407 of 7811

SWW, you know i am just kidding...we are all right some of the time and wrong about an equal amount!

waht is that about PCI?

seawallwalker - 23 Sep 2004 12:26 - 408 of 7811

Have a look at Petroceltic. The thread is underneath this one. Dunno if you hold or would in your position, but I thought it worth a small punt so I did.

Price is below what I paid at the moment, so could be bargain bucket time.

On the other hand may be too risky?

proptrade - 23 Sep 2004 15:10 - 409 of 7811

looks interesting but i am really happy with my oils exposure right now. i also punt around down in australia, always some interesting names down there...

seawallwalker - 23 Sep 2004 15:48 - 410 of 7811

True.

I do not have the kitchen sink on it, and stand to make a very nice gain, may come quicker than SEY, if it does I will take it and run, unlike SEY, which I will hold for a very long time...............zzzzzzzzzzzz

proptrade - 23 Sep 2004 15:59 - 411 of 7811

i know how you feel. when i started this thread i thought the news would come in domino style but instead has been dragged out over ages. the good news is that at least we now have HNR updates regularly.

i have a few AMEC at the moment which is slipping down my leg (so to speak). they are potentially a t/o target according to the sunday times and FT articles. i did some homework and fancy them short term. i am in higher than here but could see them be taken out at 380-400. sorry to mix stocks here but am a tad bored!
