BLINX and you've missed it, the next google multi bagger!!! (BLNX)

Still Waiting - 25 Jul 2008 23:22

Chart.aspx?Provider=EODIntra&Code=BLNX&S

With video search set to be the next big growth area BLNX have the software the likes of Microsoft, Google and NewsCorp would love to have.

In fact BLNX have done deals with most of these, the most recent being the UtargetFox deal which has been reported in the USA but not RNS'd in the UK.

Alexa rankings confirm the continued growth in usage as its viral effect spreads:-

The ITN RNS confirms blnx is the best in the market and is growing fast:-

Leading News Organization ITN Extends Advertising Deal with blinkx Based on Proven Campaign Success

blinkx Selected to Power Advertising across ITN Website and Syndication Partner Sites

SAN FRANCISCO, CALIF. - July 2, 2008 - blinkx, the world's largest and most advanced video search engine, today announced that it has won an extension contract that will augment the scope of its advertising partnership with ITN, one of the world's leading news and multimedia content companies. Under the terms of the new agreement, ITN will use AdHoc, blinkx's patented contextual advertising platform for online TV and video, to serve advertisements on the ITN website and its syndication partner sites, including Bebo.

Through AdHoc, ITN has already been effectively monetizing its premium news content on the blinkx.com network for over six months. During this time, ITN achieved a significantly better return, greater search volume, and higher monetization through blinkx than through other syndication partners.

AdHoc uses blinkx's patented speech-to-text transcription and visual analysis technology to understand video content more thoroughly and effectively than any other service today, and can therefore dynamically place the most pertinent advertising against it. The AdHoc platform offers media companies and advertisers a unique value proposition -- video advertising which combines the emotive power of TV promotion, with the relevance and utility of contextual search advertising.

The confluence of ITN's premium TV content, blinkx's extensive syndication network, and AdHoc's uniquely powerful targeting capabilities was a formula for success. By extending its partnership with blinkx, ITN aims to achieve similar returns by leveraging the AdHoc platform to deliver contextually relevant video advertising on its own website and across its distribution partner sites.

'We're thrilled to be broadening our relationship with ITN,' said Suranga Chandratillake, founder and CEO of blinkx. 'News content is one of the most popular categories of online video and there's clearly a tremendous opportunity for monetization. The success of our partnership with ITN is evidence that the blinkx AdHoc platform is a uniquely powerful solution for online video advertising today.'

'We've been delighted with the results of our partnership with blinkx and are looking forward to implementing the AdHoc technology on our site,' said Nicholas Wheeler, managing director, ITN On. 'blinkx AdHoc has proven that it can achieve significant monetization of our content, effective marketing for advertisers and, most importantly, a useful, non-disruptive experience for our audience.'

As a pioneer in video search technology, blinkx has built a reputation as the most effective way to search new forms of online content such as video. With more than 350 partners and 26 million hours of indexed video and audio content, including favorite TV moments, news clips, short documentaries, music videos, video blogs and more, blinkx uses advanced speech recognition technology to deliver results that are more accurate and reliable than standard metadata-based keyword searches.

Camel - 11 Nov 2011 09:35 - 3942 of 6187

Is there some consensus if it's worth getting into these now? Made a tidy profit when it was in its 20s, selling at just under 100, never thought 's see 100 again though...

Toya - 11 Nov 2011 10:43 - 3944 of 6187

The chart is truly horrid - I can't believe it! Looks like it could be heading back to 90p! Yet the long-term prospects still look good:

"Adjusted operating and pre-tax profits increased to $4.89m and $4.95m respectively - up from $2.50m and $2.52m last time.

Founder and CEO Suranga Chandratillake said: "Video advertising continues to thrive, with double-digit growth forecast for the next five years, and our performance over the last six months underlines the strength of blinkx's model within this dynamic marketplace."

The results look pretty good to me.
The charts are one thing, real life, that is something else!

Toya - 11 Nov 2011 11:09 - 3946 of 6187

I agree with you there, CP! I see this one as a long-term winner - may top up when it hits 90.

ptholden - 11 Nov 2011 11:13 - 3947 of 6187

Isn't this a profit warning?

Anything else I may add is irrelevant if that is the case!

Gausie - 11 Nov 2011 11:15 - 3948 of 6187

Oops.

Whilst I have no position in Blnx, it's a bit rich for Haystack to pop up and say I told you so. You've been saying that since about 10p. For all that time you've been wrong, at least have the grace to preface any of your posts with, "ok, I've been utterly and totally wrong whilst this has ten bagged but now, I might just be right, but not yet!"

As for Gausie :)

Haystack - 11 Nov 2011 12:12 - 3955 of 6187

If you have read my posts as you claim to have, then you will see that I have said several times that the price would rise and money could be made from these. I am commenting on the value of the company and its correct share price. The actual share prce is more to do with sentiment, hype and ramping.

ptholden - 11 Nov 2011 12:21 - 3956 of 6187

Yes, haystack, you've had to change your tune as the SP has steadily climbed, but at the same time telling everyone what a load of crap this company is (which may possibly be true). Quite comical :)

bounce potentially on & started - citi note.....

LONDON (Dow Jones)--Video search company Blinkx PLC (BLNX.LN) said Friday it hasn't seen any slowdown in demand from advertisers despite a gloomy economic backdrop as it posted strong revenue growth for its fiscal first half, although pretax profit fell on costs relating to an acquisition.

Blinkx sells advertising on its own video search engine blinkx.com, and on a range of niche websites through an advertising network it acquired when it bought Burst Media in April.

The company's revenue climbed 63% to $44.6 million in the six months to Sept. 30, as it continued to grow its audience and signed up a number of high-profile advertising clients.

Chief Executive Suranga Chandratillake said video advertising has so far been immune from a slowdown in the wider advertising market.

"We don't see any change in regular trading patterns. But [the economic backdrop] is something we monitor very carefully," he told Dow Jones Newswires. Chandratillake said he is comfortable about meeting market expectations for full-year revenue of around $124 million.

California-based Blinkx said it made a pretax profit of $1.48 million for the first half, down from $2.02 million a year earlier. Excluding costs relating to the Burst acquisition, pretax profit almost doubled to $4.95 million.

The company's shares fell sarply following the results, and at 1000 GMT traded down 13% at 106.25 pence, but still up 28% in the year to date.

Analysts at Citi said while the revenue growth was impressive, "the market was implicitly expecting more than a 'meet and hold' set of results". Citi said it is nevertheless upbeat about further "dramatic" growth from Blinkx, and maintained its buy rating with a 180 pence target price.

Earlier in the week Blinkx added a further audience for its video advertising with the GBP22.4 million acquisition of search advertising firm Prime Visibility Media Group Inc. Chandratillake said the company isn't planning further acquisitions, with the focus now on the integration of Prime.
