BLINX and you've missed it, the next google multi bagger!!! (BLNX)

Still Waiting - 25 Jul 2008 23:22

Chart.aspx?Provider=EODIntra&Code=BLNX&S

With video search set to be the next big growth area BLNX have the software the likes of Microsoft, Google and NewsCorp would love to have.

In fact BLNX have done deals with most of these, the most recent being the UtargetFox deal which has been reported in the USA but not RNS'd in the UK.

Alexa rankings confirm the continued growth in usage as its viral effect spreads:-

The ITN RNS confirms blnx is the best in the market and is growing fast:-

Leading News Organization ITN Extends Advertising Deal with blinkx Based on Proven Campaign Success

blinkx Selected to Power Advertising across ITN Website and Syndication Partner Sites

SAN FRANCISCO, CALIF. - July 2, 2008 - blinkx, the world's largest and most advanced video search engine, today announced that it has won an extension contract that will augment the scope of its advertising partnership with ITN, one of the world's leading news and multimedia content companies. Under the terms of the new agreement, ITN will use AdHoc, blinkx's patented contextual advertising platform for online TV and video, to serve advertisements on the ITN website and its syndication partner sites, including Bebo.

Through AdHoc, ITN has already been effectively monetizing its premium news content on the blinkx.com network for over six months. During this time, ITN achieved a significantly better return, greater search volume, and higher monetization through blinkx than through other syndication partners.

AdHoc uses blinkx's patented speech-to-text transcription and visual analysis technology to understand video content more thoroughly and effectively than any other service today, and can therefore dynamically place the most pertinent advertising against it. The AdHoc platform offers media companies and advertisers a unique value proposition -- video advertising which combines the emotive power of TV promotion, with the relevance and utility of contextual search advertising.

The confluence of ITN's premium TV content, blinkx's extensive syndication network, and AdHoc's uniquely powerful targeting capabilities was a formula for success. By extending its partnership with blinkx, ITN aims to achieve similar returns by leveraging the AdHoc platform to deliver contextually relevant video advertising on its own website and across its distribution partner sites.

'We're thrilled to be broadening our relationship with ITN,' said Suranga Chandratillake, founder and CEO of blinkx. 'News content is one of the most popular categories of online video and there's clearly a tremendous opportunity for monetization. The success of our partnership with ITN is evidence that the blinkx AdHoc platform is a uniquely powerful solution for online video advertising today.'

'We've been delighted with the results of our partnership with blinkx and are looking forward to implementing the AdHoc technology on our site,' said Nicholas Wheeler, managing director, ITN On. 'blinkx AdHoc has proven that it can achieve significant monetization of our content, effective marketing for advertisers and, most importantly, a useful, non-disruptive experience for our audience.'

As a pioneer in video search technology, blinkx has built a reputation as the most effective way to search new forms of online content such as video. With more than 350 partners and 26 million hours of indexed video and audio content, including favorite TV moments, news clips, short documentaries, music videos, video blogs and more, blinkx uses advanced speech recognition technology to deliver results that are more accurate and reliable than standard metadata-based keyword searches.

it's good to see differing opinions here, not least because speaking for myself and possibly most of us, we do not understand how internet providers and similar make their money .... however, most assuredly they do and even though BLNX is a minnow in that world, it is now making a genuine profit

quite how one puts a fair value on the company is another matter altogether, but as long as this remains a growth area, which assuredly seems to be the case, then hefty forward projections are not unreasonable - always provided the company in question keeps producing the numbers to justify

To be sure the stock has done very well, to say the least
A pull back now and then is surely no bad thing. But the future for online advertising is going from strength to strength. And, Blinkx is well and truly reflecting this.

I can't understand these people who can't ( won't) see the wood for the trees. In effect they say, " Don't confuse me with the facts, my mind is made up ! It would have been better if they had been born in a field and suckled by a wolf, that they might see clearly with their own eyes.

Gibby

I disagree - 70p looks certain. The big question is whether 50p will provide any support.

How fitting, so soon after Nov 5th, that a share that has gone up like a rocket starts to come down like the stick.

Will be adding after 1 and also at the inevitable DCB, which may be as high as 120p imho.

Jumped in....not sure if it's a good idea or not....but this might be near the bottom....

chessplayer - 15 Nov 2011 12:19 - 3991 of 6187

RF Perhaps you have a talent for poker!
It seems to be bouncing back a bit at any rate- back in positive territory

Gausie - 15 Nov 2011 13:01 - 3992 of 6187

rf - What is it they say about bottom pickers?

You get out in the fields and pick that cotton, I'll arrange the Tshirt production and distribution.

gibby - 15 Nov 2011 21:37 - 3993 of 6187

gausie - like the firework scenario 3992 lol - i think we can agree to differ - but see how it pans out

rf not sure what you got in hopefully near bottom - but so far blnx is riding this well - you should do well imo gl

Gausie - 16 Nov 2011 16:46 - 3994 of 6187

Another bad day for BLNX, and another good day for common sense.

cynic - 16 Nov 2011 16:47 - 3995 of 6187

common sense and markets do not good bedfellows make as should you know at your age

gibby - 16 Nov 2011 20:58 - 3996 of 6187

ditto that lol

cynic - 17 Nov 2011 08:28 - 3997 of 6187

the institutions who wolfed down the placing at 140 a couple of weeks back much be feeling very cheesed

required field - 17 Nov 2011 09:27 - 3998 of 6187

I thought that it might have a bit more to drop....perhaps overdone now...

cynic - 17 Nov 2011 09:30 - 3999 of 6187

it's almost as out of sorts as GKP!
assuming blnx has a future (i happen to think it does), then sp could well drift with the market until there is more quality news - i.e. increased earnings/profits rather than just boring new links with more obscure providers

Gausie - 17 Nov 2011 10:58 - 4000 of 6187

rf - why overdone? All of the indicators and chart trends suggest this move is only just beginning.

Cynic- drift? I think not. It's not yet found a level to drift from and looks to remain volatile with strong downward pressure. Either value hunters working from fundies and crossed fingers will eventually drive a DCB (to maybe 1/110p?) or the massacre will continue awhile to 70p and lower before we get the idiot bounce with subsequent new lows. I don't see any reason for drift for quite some time.

Don't forget, the only thing we know for sure about market prices is that they'll always do whatever causes the most people the most pain.

Haystack - 17 Nov 2011 11:02 - 4001 of 6187

There is much worse to come from the Eurozone and a number of world economies. This will pile on the pressure on tech jam tomorrow companies like Blinkx. If it breaches support at 90p then 70p does look quite likely. There is some support at 80p but 70p is a much stronger support level. The candlestick chart shows it better.

skinny - 17 Nov 2011 11:16 - 4002 of 6187

From a simplistic chart view, 90,80 or 70 could be a reasonable entry for a trading bounce.

gibby - 17 Nov 2011 11:19 - 4003 of 6187

agreed skinny

gausie - if this goes down to 70p by xmas - good call!! :-)))

Gausie - 17 Nov 2011 15:11 - 4004 of 6187

gibby

Ta - but all the credit for the call really should go to our resident never-wrong guru, Tabby.

It was his deep and insightful analysis on 28th October that foretold and portended this massive capitulation of the bulls. The guy's truly a genius. Trust me, the bumbling crass ignoramus image he portrays is just a facade. Underneath it all throbs an incisive brain with twice the analytical capabilities of the fastest supercomputers in existence. He hides his true identity well.

Who would guess that he's really Warren Buffet's smarter brother? The sage of Gillingham.

<snip> .can I just congratulate Haystack and Elephant Man for continually giving me their hard earned on this stock...all the way from 30p... loland can I suggest they open another short next week

Have a great weekend all...Haystack...3p next week!

Unlike him not to post on here for so long. I guess when he comes out from hiding under his bedclothes he'll have plenty of his very special blend of insight, pompousness and naive crass stupidity to provide us with.

Where are you tabby?

required field - 17 Nov 2011 18:19 - 4005 of 6187

Gausie : you do talk some crap at times !....sorry but you do....what is this tabasco loving ?....(snigger).....perhaps this might drop only in line with the markets but this will rebound very, very sharply....

skinny - 17 Nov 2011 21:14 - 4006 of 6187

Gausie - a bit rich to be honest

"Unlike him not to post on here for so long. I guess when he comes out from hiding under his bedclothes he'll have plenty of his very special blend of insight, pompousness and naive crass stupidity to provide us with."

WTF have you and Haystack been in the interim. There may be some credence in what you say - but fair fodder is only that if you participate in the whole debate :-)
