Rockhopper was established in 2004 with a strategy to invest in and undertake an offshore oil exploration programme in the North Falkland Basin. It was floated on AIM in August 2005. Rockhopper was the first company to make a commercial oil discovery in the Falklands. Today Rockhopper is the largest acreage holder in the North Falkland Basin, with interests in the Greater Mediterranean region.

December update to the Sea Lion appraisal EIS says RKH get the rig back end Jan 2011.

That would mean DES will stop drilling after Jacinta, so it looks like last throw the dice for DES for now, and also RKH get the rig back earlier !

we have now lost our flag ship ark royal to be turned into tins of beans
uk unless it hires an amada really stuck now if the maldives / falklands attacked
4 jets in m/f small garisson
not though lack but shear numbers we will be stuck
argies are skint i am told and likely to attack early next year to deflect from their own problems at home
gl this will not make rkh worthless if it proceeds but hang on to to your hats if it does

gibby.....The Dagoes are not in with a shout should they be dumb enough to try invading the FI's again!

gibby - 14 Dec 2010 11:15 - 4005 of 6294

chav - 14 Dec 2010 11:19 - 4006 of 6294

gibby....I guess you haven't been in the FI's lately or pre 1982 to compare the difference?

gibby - 14 Dec 2010 11:32 - 4007 of 6294

in range with no carrierr- and no ship / carrier to carry planes for 10 yrs LOL - who has a fighter carrier without planes? only a fool would do that but heyho!! touble coming - sqad 4 fi based typhoons minimal response then short lived - small garisson - naval fleet restricted to auxis - the argies strike they waited for the stike in their limited support early next year imo
woops this is happening the south ams want it - know the uk is weak right now annd for them esp arg take the fi area right back-hold on

chav - 14 Dec 2010 11:41 - 4008 of 6294

Would they have used an Aircraft Carrier in defense of the FI's?..noooooooooo

Does it take some time to assemble the assets for an invasion force?..Yessssssss

Can you re enforce the FI's by air in 16 hrs?..yesssssssssss

1982...40 Royal Marines V 6,000 Dagoes (5,000 no problem but 6K bit much) no Air cover and no Royal navy cover.

2011...huge difference in defense capability and even the Argies are bright enough to understand that fact.

avsec - 14 Dec 2010 12:22 - 4009 of 6294

Gibby - don't get me started. I was there for the fall and recapture of the FIs last time.

There is a world of difference between '82 and now - politically and militarily. It would take a military coup in Argentina to even get such an endeavour on the drawing board - even if they could afford to do so.

...............and you'd be wrong to think that our intelligences sources would be caught napping again ( - I hope)

BTW your keyboard seems to have a mind of its own....LOL

gibby - 14 Dec 2010 12:39 - 4010 of 6294

avsec i know the area and my complete is to the royal marines - complete respect and to the sas brave hard people but what you miss is the south and the chinese coming over - uk is toothless right now
