Why is Atlantic coal not on any bodies radar? (ATC)

Balerboy - 10 Feb 2009 15:12

Just curious as to why there's not a thread on this one, yet it's seems to have had a good day so far. Perhaps some one can tell me why?

1), Looking for coal underwater isn't smart. . . Dumb choice of Co. Name.
2),Dunno, probably lack of interest here says "bargepoles"
3), see one above
The recent sp rise is due to stupidity - the dilution being massive - and all for little more than Dirs will spend on their wages, pensions and cars....repeat next Jan, if this rotting old barge is still above the water-line.
The application of new gloss doesn't disguise a poor investment promise.
4),Coal is something we should be using less of, so the future is hardly bright....Doh!
All IMHO.

ATC Looks like a decent co. and coal is coming back i have a number of shares as I think it will go up again it's a wait and see stock

skinny - 26 Aug 2011 09:09 - 7 of 41

According to the chart - these traded at 14 in 2003?

northerly1 - 19 Sep 2013 23:10 - 8 of 41

ATC is probably worth at punt at 0.13p the moving averages are starting to turn positive again now and there is probably more upside than downside from here barring any bad news/fall in coal price etc

robstuff - 26 Sep 2013 15:10 - 9 of 41

good call northerly1, super results. ridiculously low p/e on those figs

robstuff - 26 Sep 2013 15:56 - 10 of 41

Directors Buying today? :
Managing director Steve Best said: "This has been an exciting period with the Pott and Bannon site being brought into our Pennsylvania anthracite portfolio and having achieved substantially increased production compared with H1 2012.

robstuff - 26 Sep 2013 18:52 - 11 of 41

P/e 2 on those profits figs. What's more, second half is expected to show growth with production being increased and prices rising in the winter mths as is normally the case. Doubled today, will they do the same tomorrow, price should be around a penny at least so a quick four bagger imo

3 monkies - 26 Sep 2013 19:36 - 12 of 41

Coal has gone up £10 per ton in these neck of the woods to the coal suppliers so heaven help the likes of me who has an open coal fire or the other option, don't make one.
May be one to consider buying at the moment. Everybody is talking about how we in England don't have the supplies anymore and that it is all imported and how sad it is.
Multifuel burners are in high demand at the moment apparantly so I have learned over the last 3 weeks so folks won't need to put their central heating on in certain rooms - just hope they know what is safe to burn on them. Think this is on my radar for the morning. They reckon anthracite is the best to burn as it does not burn the liner out -not the traditional coal full of chemicals so who knows Think I will certainly buy some.

robstuff - 26 Sep 2013 22:00 - 13 of 41

Will certainly be on the radars now 3m, tomorrow will be Big, the current results and potential massively undervalue the company. Profit for the 6mths 2.5m, the next half could be bigger, so say 5m but co is still only worth around 10m! Doh, no brainer..

3 monkies - 26 Sep 2013 22:46 - 14 of 41

No brainer could still bring in a couple of pounds. A little punt so to speak is better than nothing me thinks. I seriously have been researching and I think coal will come good providing it is of the sought out one in todays trend.

Adacol - 27 Sep 2013 10:47 - 15 of 41

I hope peeps are getting in now at 0.23p?

robstuff - 27 Sep 2013 12:07 - 16 of 41

if profit for the full yr comes much lower at just 4m, we have a p/e of around 2 or 3 so a lot of upside, surprised is hasnt gone to 0.5p today

Balerboy - 27 Sep 2013 23:49 - 17 of 41

hope you lot got out at .25p and took your profits.......

robstuff - 30 Sep 2013 08:13 - 18 of 41

Lol, with a p/e 2.5 on a low coal price..on a shr that's just turned .. Yeah think I'll sell

Balerboy - 30 Sep 2013 22:06 - 19 of 41

looks like it's turned down.,.

colinspurr - 01 Oct 2013 09:56 - 20 of 41

No buyers all sellers

skyhigh - 18 Oct 2013 17:58 - 21 of 41

poised to go up (imho)...coiled spring!...

northerly1 - 22 Oct 2013 20:11 - 22 of 41

The director has purchased more shares at 0.27p so onwards and upwards.

robstuff - 23 Oct 2013 19:18 - 23 of 41
