Good opportunities ahead (TAL)

jimwren - 16 Dec 2004 10:39

Does anyone hold shares in Ten Alps. This is an independent producer for TV and radio programmes that has been growing both organically and by acquisition. They were doing well anyway but with the BBC review pledging to double the amount of independently made programmes their business should take off in 2005.
They also have strong links with the Government and have recently launched a programme especially targeted at training teachers, for which they are being paid handsomely.

DYOR, but this looks a good play

Ten Alps is starting to gather momentum on the back of new TV and radio productions - see the very impressive list on RNS. This coupled with the newly launched Teachers Channel bodes well for the future.

A good write up in Shares mag about the attractions of the changing face of Tv, especially the opportunities for independents such as Ten Alps. Also interesting was the increasing value of "Intellectual Property (IP)" that many of these companies, including Ten Alps, holds.

Based on the very positive news of profits etc today, Ten Alps are going from strenght to strenght. In for the long term on this one.
lol to all.

me too - great to see such strong results. Maybe now Ten Alps will get on the radar screen of some more investors.

Just read the RSN news. More informative.
I do like Brian Waldens style amongst the obvious initial investors. IMO this media company is going places big time.
I also appreicate the down turns the media business has. Can be very cut throat.
Keep your house clean and you cannot loose! That is being done.

Most of the down turns in media are due to the advertising cycle which would effect TAL in a small way. The big growth area however is TV production, especially with the BBC's commitment to outsource many more programmes to independent operators. Add in the fact that most of the intellectual rights now stay with the producer and TAL must be a winner. As I said I think the stock has largely been ignored but with recent floats of other similar companies such as SHED I believe things are on the up.

Good write up in this week's Share Mag about TV production companies in general including Ten Alps. This company is a long term winner IMHO and just needs to get on a few more radar screens.

jimwren - 24 Aug 2005 13:37 - 12 of 20

An excellent trading update - all based on organic growth. IMO this is the start of much more to come.

Jim,

Yesterdays news was a breath of fresh air. Lets hope mm don't do their usual and get PI's gittery etc. I don't think they will as this is not a speculative company.
Excellent management, great quality products with much more to come and excellent connections in the media industry. What else can you say? A money maker I suppose!!!!

this stock deserves a lot of attention. superb management and very active. bubbly sector. probably due a reality check but so far so good. they just keep adding the right bits. "Ten Alps is Planet spelled backwards" - isn't that lovely! call me silly but these guys have made good decisions from the start.
