queen1 - 09 Sep 2005 09:14

Some good news for the end of the week:

Thorofare, NJ, USA - September 9, 2005 Akers Biosciences, Inc. (LSE: AKR) is
delighted to announce the final conclusion to the legal matter, which had been
pending in the United States District Court, Southern District of Florida since
February, 2004.

On September 1, 2005, after a jury trial lasting six days, a final judgment was
entered in the matter of Akers vs. Alliance, wherein 'Judgment is hereby
entered on behalf of Counter-defendant, Akers Biosciences, Inc., and against
the counter-claimant, Alliance Investment Management, LTD. on all of
counter-claimant's claims, and counter-claimant shall take nothing from this
action.'

As a result, Akers Biosciences will recognize, as income in the current year,
the $713,046, which is the amount of previously due loan plus all related
interest and costs, now annulled under the terms of the Court Order.

Akers Biosciences Inc said it signed an agreement with Pulse Marketing Corp for the marketing and distribution of Akers' home cholesterol and free radical tests to US direct sales companies.

Under the agreement, Pulse will pay development funds to Akers to modify the tests to its specifications, and Akers will then manufacture the products for Pulse.

Pulse, whose distribution reaches over 1 mln independent business owners in North America, intends to market the products as soon as the development phase is completed, which is targeted for March 2007, Akers said.

'Today's agreement represents a significant step in our strategy to penetrate a large segment of the US home healthcare market,' said Akers chief executive Dr. Ray Akers.

And not before time!

Diagnostics maker Akers Biosciences said it has received its first 'substantial' UK order, for more than 2,000 units of a combination of alcohol breathalyzer and drug abuse test kits through its UK distributor Advanced Rapid Diagnostics Ltd.

This also represents the first substantial international order for Akers products in 2007, the company said in a statement.

Akers Biosciences has agreed with CIGA Healthcare Ltd to market and distribute its antibody test PIFA Heparin/Platelet Factor-4 Rapid Assay in the UK. The deal was signed through Akers' strategic partner HealthChem Diagnostics LLC USA, it said.

Akers said there is limited sales presence for the product in the UK and Europe and the deal represents the first 'substantial' international partnership for the antibody test.

The agreement provides for exclusive distribution rights in the UK if certain minimum purchase levels are achieved, the company said in a statement.

'Today's agreement represents a significant step to date in our strategy to increase our presence in Europe,' said Dr Ray Akers, chief executive.

Some long-awaited good news:

Healthcare diagnostics maker Akers Biosciences said it won a 2.5 mln usd order from US army to supply its BreathScan alcohol safety units immediately. The company said it is confident that other divisions of the US military will also order its product line in the very near future.

Akers said this contract transforms the company from a purely research and development business to a company that is capitalising on its proprietary product lines and generating sustainable revenues from them.

There appears to be the slightest flicker of life in the world of AKR........

OMERTA - 06 Sep 2008 01:40 - 9 of 17

Figures due on the 8th and have been ticking better all week within a sea of Red.
10/- sold @ 17p and now three mm's on the 'bid' Staying with them for the time being.

Akers Biosciences reveals a maiden profit of $1m for the year to the end of December.

Revenues rose to $6.1m from $5.5m in 2007 with adjusted EBITDA of $2.7m against a loss of $1.4m previously and a strong cash position of $4.3m.

Chairman Edward Mulhare said: "The company is finally evolving into the business that we long believed it could become. Each of the four current and two future core products have market potentials ranging from tens of millions of dollars per annum to hundreds of millions. We recognise that sales at present represent only a tiny fraction of the potential market size for each product and, having made inroads to commercialisation in 2008, the company is poised to accept the challenge to grow ABI's worldwide business in 2009 and beyond."

The new French decree requiring EACH car be equipped with TWO disposable alcohol detectors is a pain in the but except for Akers Biosciences who make them. What's the betting that the rest of Europe will follow?

Nice movement in these over the last 30 days.

Chart.aspx?Provider=EODIntra&Code=AKR&Si

Like a skyrocket on back of slightly old news about Nasdaq listing but greatly helped by Henderson's taking out a large CFD for over 6% recently.

Dil - 23 Oct 2013 01:51 - 15 of 17

Serious question Mike , what happens when they close ?

Henderson got a CFD for 27% of a company I hold , think it might be Netplay.

Bullshare - 23 Oct 2013 17:46 - 16 of 17

Dil; It will collapse pretty quickly if they sell but a lot of funds are now using this as a money route, well its stays off their investmnet books so they can play the markets more !!!!

Interesting though that L & G closed their declared position so have to assume Henderson picked them up somehow via a cfd, bit messy though.

Short term punt me thinks

Claretdabbler - 24 Oct 2013 09:08 - 17 of 17

with nearly 400% rise in 6 weeks I am taking some profits.
