Kingspan Group (KGP)

John McEvoy - 11 Oct 2005 12:06

I am Researching Kingspan Group (Epic is KGP and KRX.IX). H1 results were excellent. I am trying to gauge H2. Kingpan manufactures building products:
Insulated Panels, Insulation Board, Raised Access Floors, Offsite Construction and Structural Products and Environmental Containers.
Can anybody help me as to where I can get statistics for current demand for building materials in UK?

i have noticed this company over the last 5 years. it was ahead of the game with its insulation panels ...whereas the panels of most of its competitors did not meet the strict requirements of fire insurers, particularily in the food industry.
my impression was that its research and product developement , marketing, product quality and management were all good

Data I found on web today about Rockwool may be of interest to you.

Kingspan ( Epic and KSP)
SIG (Epic shi)

Caveat emptor

Kingspan has been the best performing Irish construction stock in 2005 and specialist insulation distributor SIG (Epic shi) is comfortably outperforming the general UK merchants.

Its operating performance provides clues as to why this sharp share price appreciation is occurring. Rockwools EBIT for the first three quarters of the year increased 56%; indeed Q3 EBIT alone rose 63% with margins rising from 7.4% in Q3 2004 to 10.7%.

Emphasising how buoyant the group is at present, Rockwool has revised up its profit forecast for the year by 10% after its Q3 numbers.

It is this kind of earnings momentum that has propelled the groups rating forward:

Rockwool is trading on a forward P/E multiple of c.20x. The stock gained over 4.5% after the results.

We believe that earnings momentum is pivotal to Kingspans share price performance going into 2006. Should forecasts be revised upwardswhich can by no means be ruled outwhen the group issues a trading statement at the beginning of January, the stock should run through the 1100c mark.
________________________________________________
Rockwool, the Danish building suppliers, reported a 10.5% rise in sales for the first nine months of the year, corresponding to a 74.4% increase in net income, and a raising of full year guidance by 10% to DKK 550m.
Of particular relevance to Kingspan, is the performance of their insulation business (c.90% of sales), where sales grew by 11.7%. Rockwool highlighted Russia, the Far East, North America, Scandinavia and the Netherlands as regions of particular strength.
This set of results along with the recent figures from Saint Gobain (its insulation business reported like for like sales growth of 5.2% in the nine months to the end of September), highlight the strength of the global insulation business.
