KEEP AN EYE

Are on the move up after some very large trades a bit earlier 10m + 7M + and news after goberment cabinet meeting ....

Cabinet has adopted the recommendations of a team of experts on how to deal with the problem of acid mine drainage, governments chief spokesman Jimmy Manyi said at a post cabinet media briefing on Tuesday. Cabinet also agreed that further work should be undertaken to investigate the possibility of an environmental levy. The recommendations include implementing ingress control measures to reduce the rate of flooding and the eventual decanting and pumping volume. Also that the costs to deal with acid mine drainage be reduced and that water quality be improved through neutralisation and metal removal in the short term. In the medium to longer term salt loads should be removed from river systems be considered. Finally cabinet agreed that the monitoring and research be improved to inform decision making and to monitor and manage the other sources of acid mine drainage in the Witwatersrand. National planning commission Minister Trevor Manuel told the briefing that the immediate task was to pump water out of mines across the three basins. He gave the assurance that government was dealing with the problem and that the pumping in the western basin would begin immediately.

He stressed however that there was 'no need for panic'. while the recent rains had created the perception that there had been rapid decanting, in fact this was just water flowing through. Mr Manuel said government would try to recoup much of the cost of dealing with the problem from profit making mines. An expert told the briefing that the pump would begin operating by March 2012 Mr Manuel said the report would be released by the Department of Water Affairs in the next few days and that the Minister of Finance Pravin Gordhan would announce the financing for the plan when he releases the national budget in parliament tomorrow.

So frightened of putting anything else into Africa won't go on about the stories but do you really think wet could be a good one - without the beauocracy which seems to go with everything? African and Manwana not on my lucky list!!!!!!!!! Years of waiting for those also.

London small caps: Central Rand Gold jumps on Pretoria action
By Bryce Elder

Central Rand Gold jumped by 66.7 per cent to 2.35p after South African government officials said the nation would take action immediately to start pumping and treating acidic water that has been rising from old mines on the Witwatersrand. Central Rand Gold warned earlier this month that the rising water table at its mine near Johannesburg was a threat to its viability.

Central Rand Gold (CRND) issues update on joint venture tolling agreement 22/7/2016

Central Rand Gold (CRND) completed and executed the definitive documents which will govern the joint venture tolling agreement with the third party supplier of gold bearing ore.

In addition, the company announced that it received multiple deliveries of gold bearing ore from the ore supplier, which is presently being stockpiled on site at the company's metallurgical plant.

The ore supplier will continue to deliver gold bearing ore to the company over the coming days, before processing of the material by Central Rand Gold, commencing in late July 2016.

The company is presently conducting metallurgical testing to ensure optimum recoveries of gold are achieved from the material.

ADDITIONAL JOINT VENTURE OPPORTUNITIES

The company continues to advance due diligence and negotiations with additional third parties regarding a variety of joint venture alternatives.

Given the commencement of the tolling venture, the joint venture opportunities will likely require the nameplate capacity of the company's existing metallurgical plant to be increased.

The company is working closely with Zhejiang Golden machinery plant to conduct various testwork and due diligence workstreams regarding the joint venture opportunities and the potential expansion of the existing metallurgical plant.

The company expects to be in a position to update shareholders regarding the joint venture opportunities in the near future.
