New Biom Technologies (BIOM)

hangon - 16 Jul 2010 15:31

DYOR - - - - - - - - - Biom Technologies mid-July 2010 AIM
This is the new resting place for Stanelco, the wonder producer of starch-based food-trays...only they didn't catch on.Over the last 10 years to 2010 the 0.1p shares traded abour 2.5p then shot up to 24p during 2005 with promise of Tray-Trials I understand. Within a year or so, they fell to new depths and finished at 0.2p Of course they were full-list then and some were held in ISA's hoping there would be a big profit...only now these are distressed sales as the Company slunk off to AIM, presumably "...to provide better shareholder-value"
Perhaps someone closer to the Co. can explain why the new name is Biome
....rhymes with Home. Often it is done to remove the previous sp-history.
Could it be..so new investors can bask in ignorance, etc. I'm not aware of any "change" in fortune for SEO, rather the reverse.
In my limited experience, the longer the name of a company the longer you have to wait for any return...Huh . . . . . .
. SEO had been a terrible investment.
DYOR.
Can Biome be any worse...?
EDIT ( 24April2017)- "just woken up" -me not BIOME - sp is 154, but I note about June 2013 there was what looks like a CONsolidation . . do I recall many LT investors were sold-short?... as I believe the (new share) numbers were terrible! . . . Anyone?

Usually read results in depth before I comment but must admit that after reading this bit, I skimmed through the rest.

We have a great team in place, ably led by Paul Mines.

I wonder if they kept a straight face when they printed that, you couln't make it up!

If you look at the first block of figures they are all down from last year.

I wonder how many posts we will see today re, 'Now is a good time to get back and the like.

I expected bad figures, but these are worse than expected.
Even Biome have found it hard to gloss over these terrible results!

Sp today, down 0.02p!

A goodbye-ing opportunity Greek! ;o)

kimoldfield - 28 Mar 2013 08:10 - 403 of 644

Results in line with my expectations!

It makes a change I suppose, instead of being a 'jam tomorrow' company, this has become a 'coffee tomorrow' company!

dreamcatcher - 28 Mar 2013 08:14 - 405 of 644

No drinks all round then. :-))

dreamcatcher - 28 Mar 2013 08:15 - 406 of 644

Perhaps share a coffee ?

I bet the guy who has taken a £20.000 loss in remuneration is pig sick and his wife if he has, one even sicker. (If this be so). Maybe I should write a begging letter and ask them to send me some coffee to compensate my loss. Ho Ho Ho!!!!

kimoldfield - 28 Mar 2013 08:44 - 408 of 644

Ok DC, has to be from one of those much publicised bio capsules though; you know the ones - they are called um, single use coffee capsules. They must be good, BIOM have been working on them since 2010, nice to see them taking their time, wouldn't want them to rush things like they did with their wondrous Greenseal machine now would we?!!

Compensatory coffee? Has a nice ring to it 3m!

Shortie - 28 Mar 2013 10:36 - 409 of 644

Who uses single use coffee capsules anyway, there hardly a mass market product... So losses have been extended, not my predicted profit of £2.99 then, oh well can't say I'm surprised.

I must admit, I thought these would sink like a brick this morning!

halifax - 28 Mar 2013 11:04 - 411 of 644

skin are you waiting for the management buyout before you jump ship?

skinny - 28 Mar 2013 11:07 - 412 of 644

For the amount (value) I have left here, its not worth the effort of selling.

kimoldfield - 28 Mar 2013 12:45 - 413 of 644

That's a boat skinny, not a brick! ;o)

That's more like it!! :o)

greekman - 28 Mar 2013 14:28 - 416 of 644

If Biome tried to design a sinking brick, it would probably float!

This share has gone down so fast in the last few years, it would make your ear drums burst.

I wonder if Edward John Smith (Titanic captain) and Mines are related.

Hi Skinny,

This is a reply to your post re Biome on the Bugs and Problem thread (I think you got the thread wrong).

I also sent my complaint to the LSE as well as the FSA.

I received a one liner from the LSE advising me to complain to the FSA (the LSE were not interested).

If it will help I can send you via MoneyAm a draft of the report I sent.

I can't send the final report as I did not keep a hard copy, but the only difference is the final report was better worded.

Regards Greek.

skinny - 02 Apr 2013 09:11 - 418 of 644

Yes please Greekman.

greekman - 02 Apr 2013 09:34 - 419 of 644

Skinny,

E-Mail on it's way.

You will see by all the 'good progress' reports mentioned by what was then Stanelco, the future looked fantastic.

It does make one wonder just how misleading a companies board have to be regarding shareholders for the FSA to take action.
I know the FSA is no more, thanks goodness, but anyone who feels the FCA will do a better job, don't hold your breath.

skinny - 02 Apr 2013 09:39 - 420 of 644

Thanks Greek - quite an eye opener!

BTW, I couldn't seem to find your Caribbean Bank account number. :-)
