I'm assuming then that we won't see a drilling update from the Gom at the end May now since the directors have been buying.

Would seem that way.

In respect of the buys and sells, I reckon the sells could be buys as they are not rock bottom bid price. Just guessing though.

Also the fact that the Driectors have bought is a clear signal to the City that they have confidence, nice whenthere is so much turmoil in the sector.

Can't say they are not trying............ depends on who is taking notice.

seawallwalker - 19 May 2005 15:30 - 4037 of 7811

Others elsewhere are buying today, their buys are being reported as sells.

Nothing new here then!!

Andy - 19 May 2005 16:37 - 4038 of 7811

SEY went down .5p in the end, quite staggering really, and the chart looks awful!

So today we had two RNS, director buying, and a fund picking up a large chunk, and also news that SEY are being recommended in the IC tomorrow, and we went DOWN?

Don't want to see what happens on a bad day!

seawallwalker - 19 May 2005 17:24 - 4039 of 7811

lol

ptholden - 19 May 2005 18:52 - 4040 of 7811

Investors Chronicle item, (edited), taken from iii and posted by that nice drop dead gorgeous Andy Reilly.

STERLING ENERGY (SEY)

A doubling of production from Sterling's Gulf of Mexico Osprey assets was behind the surge in the company's profits................... But, with Chinguetti coming on stream, cash flow should increase next year.

Buy

Ooooooooo I could eat his socks.

SWW,

Yes, that article is nicely written, must be good for a .25p rise early tomorrow am!

goal - 20 May 2005 10:40 - 4044 of 7811

Morning all, this may be old news but it came in the Money Week mag today... This year Sterling expects to double gas output & receive higher gas prices than in 2004. The implications for profits (up 130% in 2004) are "mouth-watering.BUY. The Times. Regards goal.

Did you see that! as soon as I put post 4043 on the bb SEY went up 1.7%.

seawallwalker - 20 May 2005 11:48 - 4046 of 7811

lol, do it again and see what happens.

Parsonsmead - 20 May 2005 12:05 - 4047 of 7811

LOL. Do it twice!

............"But the Opec president said a fall into the range of $40-$45 a barrel would be acceptable. Although the group abandoned its target band for a basket of crudes of $22-$28 a barrel, it never set a new range and several members have made it clear they now view $40-$50 a fairer range"

I totally agree.

proptrade - 20 May 2005 13:20 - 4049 of 7811

morning all....everyone have that Friday feeling?

gavdfc - 20 May 2005 14:38 - 4050 of 7811

I take it you're looking forward to the match tomorrow, you going to it? SWW, cheers for posting the IC write up and the FT link, $40-50 seems like a decent range. If it holds that over the summer driving season then the US has a bad winter, then who knows where the price may go in Q4.

proptrade - 20 May 2005 15:00 - 4051 of 7811

booked on the train (1st class - feeling bullish!). should be an exciting day out and hopefully not too long a journey home.

sidtrix - 20 May 2005 15:06 - 4052 of 7811

Also doubled my holdings yesterday... most sells were actual buys (bought in @ 15.25)
Market sector quite gloomy at the moment, needs time to heal (after that think SEY should boom!)

proptrade - 20 May 2005 15:12 - 4053 of 7811

i buy the management in this one all day long...kepp long and ride out the crap that regal has spewed up.

gavdfc - 20 May 2005 15:14 - 4054 of 7811

1st class!, I see someone's had a good week then! Should be a good game, Arsenal - Man Yoo always good for a punch up!

Sid, agree re the sector gloominess. RPT have a lot to answer for! And White Nile come back to market on Monday, any bets on how much they will fall! No doubt more negative press on the sector when they report their fall. Those who shorted at the top could make a killing.

proptrade - 20 May 2005 16:15 - 4055 of 7811

buy quality. i shan't say it again!
