Falklands oil company Rockhopper Exploration, up 0.3 per cent, to 356, was in focus. Traders reckon Rockhopper could announce drilling results from 14/10-3 well this week and analysts reckon a discovery could add 200p-300p to the share price.

If successful, a 500mmbbl [million barrel] field development becomes a much more attractive proposition to a major and should therefore lessen the commercialisation discount applied to all companies in the Falklands, said Evolution Securities in a recent note.

As time aproaches for some news, the share price shows some demand during the last couple days now 11p better to 367p

Rockhopper Exploration ("Rockhopper") (AIM: RKH) is an AIM listed oil and gas exploration company based in the United Kingdom.
Rockhopper has licences to explore for oil and gas in the North Falkland Basin, a basin with two proven petroleum systems and a proven high quality oil source rock.
The company was admitted to AIM in 2005 and has since completed an extensive work programme in the area, including two 2D seismic surveys, a 3D seismic survey, four CSEM lines, site surveys and benthic sampling.
In February 2010, the Ocean Guardian drilling rig arrived in Falklands waters to carry out a multi-well drilling campaign. Rockhopper drilled an exploration well on its Sea Lion prospect during April and May 2010, the result of which is the first oil discovery and Contingent Oil Resource in the North Falkland Basin.
With the well on the Sea Lion prospect successfully flow tested during September 2010, the company is fully funded to undertake an extensive exploration and appraisal programme across all of its acreage during 2011.

Approval was given to allow amendments to the environmental clauses in the offshore Minerals Ordinance (1994). This amendment will make it mandatory for EIAs and EISs to be undertaken when companies seek approval to drill exploration, appraisal and production wells and conduct Drill Stem Tests offshore.

Talk about politics and Brazil on the side of Argentina and refusing to let a patrol boat getting supplies in Brazil and then this story if true.

FALKLANDS oil explorer ROCKHOPPER was on the move yesterday amid talk of a second discovery in the South Atlantic. Shares climbed 12.87p to 386.87.....i hope so!!!!!
