Rockhopper was established in 2004 with a strategy to invest in and undertake an offshore oil exploration programme in the North Falkland Basin. It was floated on AIM in August 2005. Rockhopper was the first company to make a commercial oil discovery in the Falklands. Today Rockhopper is the largest acreage holder in the North Falkland Basin, with interests in the Greater Mediterranean region.

The question is, why did it go from 360p up to 388p on no news. So sp has now reverted back to it's fair value level. I seem to remember this happening before and the news turned out to be terrific.

I think the fair value is about 400p , was going to take profit if it went near to that yesterday.

On current recoverable estimates the chart doesn't agree with you. Somewhere between 300-350p seems to be about right. 400p is just greedy! ;o)

Not particularly heavy trading in this stock, so wouldn't yet be too concerned.

Any moment now....result due.....could drop up to 40p in all or so...or.....a shuttle like takeoff......fingers crossed...but better to be in than not....shares that it.....spreads and cfds.....too risky....

CFDs are effectively shares ..... the risk is that one gets over-exposed as only a deposit of 10/25% has to be put down - can't remember what it is on RKH

It's alright if you are watching every minute....I can't...and ......my experience is that you on a bad result you get stopped out way below your stoploss...just before a rebound.....aggghhh....have to be sharp with these...very....I would have thought it would be 25% upfront for these...at least...depends on your credit I suppose...

deposit is based on the perceived risk of the stock or similar - RKH is indeed 25% .... XEL is on a sliding scale related to quantity, but 25%+, whereas TLW is 5% .... other than that, i do not run stop-losses for the very reason you mention .... in any case, and as i have posted a number of times, unless it's a guaranteed stop, you can be stopped out well below the level you anticipated

Can't always get a guaranteed stop.....that would be good with RKH...if you can get one...

(i think) guaranteed stops have to be placed at time of purchase and are not allowed less than 10% below the market level, and as you say, may not even be possible on some
