Any moment now....result due.....could drop up to 40p in all or so...or.....a shuttle like takeoff......fingers crossed...but better to be in than not....shares that it.....spreads and cfds.....too risky....

cynic - 09 Feb 2011 09:02 - 4194 of 6294

CFDs are effectively shares ..... the risk is that one gets over-exposed as only a deposit of 10/25% has to be put down - can't remember what it is on RKH

It's alright if you are watching every minute....I can't...and ......my experience is that you on a bad result you get stopped out way below your stoploss...just before a rebound.....aggghhh....have to be sharp with these...very....I would have thought it would be 25% upfront for these...at least...depends on your credit I suppose...

cynic - 09 Feb 2011 09:56 - 4196 of 6294

deposit is based on the perceived risk of the stock or similar - RKH is indeed 25% .... XEL is on a sliding scale related to quantity, but 25%+, whereas TLW is 5% .... other than that, i do not run stop-losses for the very reason you mention .... in any case, and as i have posted a number of times, unless it's a guaranteed stop, you can be stopped out well below the level you anticipated

required field - 09 Feb 2011 10:06 - 4197 of 6294

Can't always get a guaranteed stop.....that would be good with RKH...if you can get one...

cynic - 09 Feb 2011 10:09 - 4198 of 6294

(i think) guaranteed stops have to be placed at time of purchase and are not allowed less than 10% below the market level, and as you say, may not even be possible on some

HARRYCAT - 09 Feb 2011 10:38 - 4199 of 6294

A good reminder to me as to why I steer clear of S/b & CFD's. At least if it all goes wrong with holding stock you are not forced to sell.

cynic - 09 Feb 2011 10:53 - 4200 of 6294

as there are no time constraints, you're never forced to sell CFDs unless you don't have the margin to put up ..... that said, it can be pretty scary at times and not sure how i would feel if i did not work with a pc all day

halifax - 09 Feb 2011 12:53 - 4201 of 6294

sp slipping away without news.

markymar - 09 Feb 2011 13:24 - 4202 of 6294

Nobody new any thing last time and the SP was slipping when the news came out the blue, they did say 38 days so we could still have another week to wait.

HARRYCAT - 09 Feb 2011 14:27 - 4203 of 6294

ARG not tracking this drop (yet), which is a positive note, imo.

cynic - 09 Feb 2011 14:28 - 4204 of 6294

conversely, ARG getting all set to do so!

HARRYCAT - 09 Feb 2011 14:30 - 4205 of 6294

What's that expression about keeping your head while all others around you are losing theirs.......?

cynic - 09 Feb 2011 14:31 - 4206 of 6294

only when below the parapet, and then someone sneaks up behind you and sticks a bayonet up your arse

mnamreh - 09 Feb 2011 14:43 - 4207 of 6294

.

greekman - 09 Feb 2011 15:05 - 4208 of 6294

If you can keep your head whilst others are loosing theirs, you probably have no idea whats going on in the first place.

cynic - 09 Feb 2011 15:12 - 4209 of 6294

meanwhile, volume is nearly twice norm at 4m and sp down a further 25p ..... how much of this is forced sales (stop-losses hit) rather than fear, or worse still, inside knowledge, who can tell?

cynic - 09 Feb 2011 15:15 - 4210 of 6294

chart is getting interesting with 320 looking like an excellent support to a dope like me ..... also need to check exactly what happened in May and September .... would guess spudding followed by strike

markymar - 09 Feb 2011 15:22 - 4211 of 6294

placing was at 3.15p so down side must be small if a duster as at this price it looks like a duster priced in.

cynic - 09 Feb 2011 15:24 - 4212 of 6294

doesn't necessarily follow ..... however, and i know you'll correct if needed, Sealion would appear to be commercial and that current tests are to establish exactly "how much" commercial
