AFC Energy plc (AFC)

greekman - 22 Dec 2008 17:28 - 42 of 1468

Found by a poster (greenisgood) on another site.
AFC Energy are mentioned.

Fuel Cell Plan to turn cheap waste into energy.

greekman - 22 Dec 2008 17:39 - 43 of 1468

Posted again as link did not copy correctly and site EDIT does not appear to be working.

Would have thought they will await the results of the Akzo delay problem before making any decision. But could be a second customer IF.

For some reason won't let me edit previous posts 42 or 43 re this.

greekman - 26 Jan 2009 07:57 - 46 of 1468

At least we know that the system has not totally failed. But with as yet another few months delay, the company, technology and share price all look to be on hold.

greekman - 04 Feb 2009 11:05 - 47 of 1468

RNS

The main section of this RNS .....Within the next 6 months, W2T hopes to fund and commence the construction of a pilot plant with a 50,000 tonne capacity with the aim of commencing operation in 3 years time..... The Pilot plant is obviously the key.
Not saying it won't work, just after the Akzo saga I'm naturally sceptical.
I must admit to being very surprised (pleasantly) at this deal prior to the problem re Akzo being solved.
Also as said the Howard White involvement of Stanelco fame does bother me.
Still an up tick of 35% can't be all bad, although looking at the sp of several months ago we need a lot more such news to really make a difference.
Not knocking the deal, just not ready to somersault round the room yet (if only) whooping for joy.
The Bentley Continental is still on hold.

greekman - 04 Feb 2009 11:49 - 48 of 1468

Spread now over 27%. No wonder no one is buying/selling. Do the mm's want a market or not. I wonder if there will be some closed market auction activity that the big boys can play in.

greekman - 05 Feb 2009 08:17 - 49 of 1468

This post is relevant to all stocks, so posted here as I had taken the stockwatch figures, that are faulty yet again (which I should have noticed but did not) which lead me to post re spreads, sp again. Did not want to just delete my post by editing out as I wanted to point out how the MoneyAm system that is now becoming wrong almost as many times at it is right can be totally misleading.

Aware we already know about this link between Waste2Tricity and AFC, but this is a good recent write up.

London firm plans cutting edge gasification plant
11-03-2009

A London-based energy company has outlined plans to use "cutting edge" fuel cell technology to help turn waste into electricity.

http://www.letsrecycle.com/do/ecco.py/view_item?listid=37&listcatid=217&listitemid=31218

Also as we know, everything is down to the deal between AFC and Akzo.

greekman - 17 Mar 2009 07:54 - 51 of 1468

The only part of the results that are 100% factual is the independent assessment of the fuel cell system that was commissioned from the government-backed Centre for Process Innovation (CPI).
The assessment looks very positive. The main hurdle is, will the cash run out before the finish line is reached.
I bought this share as a blue sky or bust, which it still is.
Still a long shot, but I am sticking with it for a bit longer.

greekman - 16 Apr 2009 16:04 - 52 of 1468

As no one has posted since the new release, there can't be many left in AFC on here.

Update on AkzoNobel
project and Results of AGM

Very good news although I expect some profit taking till the results of the Tests in Situ.
I would think after the shambles a few months ago AFC would want to make sure everything was working as proficiently s possible before shipment, as failure at this stage might just finish the AFC/Akzo link up.
If these test do perform, I would expect the sp to go up like a rocket, as no doubt other companies will be far easier to get on board once/if all turns out A1.
I bought at 8.5p so some way to go yet for a no loss play, but am increasingly confident.

greekman - 17 Apr 2009 07:32 - 53 of 1468

Have not seen any entries on the book by 0730 hrs before. Could be a interesting day.

greekman - 17 Apr 2009 08:32 - 54 of 1468

At 0825 today for about 2 minutes the MM's were so busy trying to out do each other, there was NO SPREAD.
Appreciate this often occurs in companies were millions of share are traded almost every hour as a normal occurrence, but AFC, never. Sometimes it never moves all day.
Will not try to put a price on this when/if the final tests in situ are completed and show a 100% positive result but there is a chance of this share being swept away in a flood of euphoria.
Could be a very interesting few days, week and months.

Balerboy - 17 Apr 2009 08:45 - 55 of 1468

Certainly hope your right, still got my few and crossing fingers.

greekman - 17 Apr 2009 09:30 - 56 of 1468

Balerboy,

Same here except I have everything crossed.
Spread now 15%. Nice to see the mm's playing the game.
They will probably make more money out of AFC over today and yesterday than they have for weeks.
Having bought this as a blue sky or bust gamble, I am prepared to wait for it to reach dizzying heights before I start cashing in.
Good luck to the day traders (but not to any shorters out there).

greekman - 20 Apr 2009 07:48 - 57 of 1468

Share Options granted.

Looks fairly generous, but it does give those members mentioned a huge incentive to push ahead with production/innovations.
Lets just hope the sentence comment...... many will not receive pay increases, means what is says.
Without a pay increase, they will be far more likely to concentrate on the sp, just like the shareholders.
It does look like confidence in their own company is strong.
Bonuses for success, no problem.

greekman - 28 Apr 2009 15:45 - 58 of 1468

Another puzzle. All sells today and yet the bid increased from 2.50p to 2.75p.

greekman - 08 Jun 2009 15:18 - 59 of 1468

Re RNS.

Does look like they have not come across any problems (or if they have they have overcome them) during the field trials.
June still mentioned for further info.

greekman - 15 Jun 2009 07:49 - 60 of 1468

Seeing his mornings RNS, I got all exited, well for at least 2 seconds. I thought this is it, sp to rocket up.
Are AFC trying to get my back up. B****r.

greekman - 02 Jul 2009 10:57 - 61 of 1468

Looks like AFC have strengthened their management team (board), with 2 people who are proving their worth.

Looking good.
