With video search set to be the next big growth area BLNX have the software the likes of Microsoft, Google and NewsCorp would love to have.

In fact BLNX have done deals with most of these, the most recent being the UtargetFox deal which has been reported in the USA but not RNS'd in the UK.

Alexa rankings confirm the continued growth in usage as its viral effect spreads:-

The ITN RNS confirms blnx is the best in the market and is growing fast:-

Leading News Organization ITN Extends Advertising Deal with blinkx Based on Proven Campaign Success

blinkx Selected to Power Advertising across ITN Website and Syndication Partner Sites

SAN FRANCISCO, CALIF. - July 2, 2008 - blinkx, the world's largest and most advanced video search engine, today announced that it has won an extension contract that will augment the scope of its advertising partnership with ITN, one of the world's leading news and multimedia content companies. Under the terms of the new agreement, ITN will use AdHoc, blinkx's patented contextual advertising platform for online TV and video, to serve advertisements on the ITN website and its syndication partner sites, including Bebo.

Through AdHoc, ITN has already been effectively monetizing its premium news content on the blinkx.com network for over six months. During this time, ITN achieved a significantly better return, greater search volume, and higher monetization through blinkx than through other syndication partners.

AdHoc uses blinkx's patented speech-to-text transcription and visual analysis technology to understand video content more thoroughly and effectively than any other service today, and can therefore dynamically place the most pertinent advertising against it. The AdHoc platform offers media companies and advertisers a unique value proposition -- video advertising which combines the emotive power of TV promotion, with the relevance and utility of contextual search advertising.

The confluence of ITN's premium TV content, blinkx's extensive syndication network, and AdHoc's uniquely powerful targeting capabilities was a formula for success. By extending its partnership with blinkx, ITN aims to achieve similar returns by leveraging the AdHoc platform to deliver contextually relevant video advertising on its own website and across its distribution partner sites.

'We're thrilled to be broadening our relationship with ITN,' said Suranga Chandratillake, founder and CEO of blinkx. 'News content is one of the most popular categories of online video and there's clearly a tremendous opportunity for monetization. The success of our partnership with ITN is evidence that the blinkx AdHoc platform is a uniquely powerful solution for online video advertising today.'

'We've been delighted with the results of our partnership with blinkx and are looking forward to implementing the AdHoc technology on our site,' said Nicholas Wheeler, managing director, ITN On. 'blinkx AdHoc has proven that it can achieve significant monetization of our content, effective marketing for advertisers and, most importantly, a useful, non-disruptive experience for our audience.'

As a pioneer in video search technology, blinkx has built a reputation as the most effective way to search new forms of online content such as video. With more than 350 partners and 26 million hours of indexed video and audio content, including favorite TV moments, news clips, short documentaries, music videos, video blogs and more, blinkx uses advanced speech recognition technology to deliver results that are more accurate and reliable than standard metadata-based keyword searches.

blinkx unveils record first half figures
StockMarketWire.com
Video search engine blinkx unveils record first half results with revenues up 84% at $82.0m.

Adjusted profits from operations increased by 61% to $7.9m in the six months to the end of September while adjusted pre-tax profits rose to $8.4m - up from $5.0m.

The group's cash balance rose to $41.6m up from $38.4m on 31 March.

Chief executive S. Brian Mukherjee said: "This has been an exceptional first half for blinkx.

"The business demonstrated strong underlying growth, which was accelerated by the ahead-of-schedule integration of Burst and PVMG. The progress of this integration enabled us to serve a greater number of high value ads to a wider audience at robust monetization rates.

"During the period, we also benefited from increased advertising spend allocated to specific events - the summer Olympics and the US presidential elections.

"These one-time events provided us with a better-than-expected boost to revenues during the traditionally slower summer months."

Wow! Tabby's back, firing from the hip! Glad you are ok Tabs, we thought that your executor was handling your Blinx shares! ;o)

Gausie - 14 Nov 2012 21:34 - 4215 of 6187

Lol, Tabby - love it.

I forget who it was from the xmas photos that you decided must be me. But it certainly wasn't me. I wonder how offended they might be if they read your comments?

As for your wife buying - that's a new one. I understand she's more often to be found 'selling' if you know what I mean.

Thistle? I recall you being on record as more of a pineapple man. You stated a while back that you were an aficionado of rectal pineapple insertion. Why the change?

G

ps - for the record, have been long BLNX since mid September, and have added a few times on dips. But please don't include me in your definition of 'good guys'. I don't partake of your pineapple peccadilloes.

Ah Gausie…glad to see you are embarrassed by your appearance…you have every right to be with a mooey like that…How you ever get a shag is beyond me?

Glad to see you are long blnx…you have done your bollocks enough times with that other prat haystacks on the way up to 150p…I hold 1.15mil…mostly purchased at 12p…nice to see you are helping me out…

One last thing…I would never class you as a good guy…more like an ugly nasty James Hunt …and there’s not many of them about…congratulations…Carol and Cay send their love.

Kim…nice to hear from you…now you are a good guy…it’s a shame they let Elephant Man on these bb to spoil things….toodle pip!!

Ian…my very good friend…how many opportunities have you had to get rid of Gausie?… The man…… and I use the word loosely is a nasty human being and costs £AM a lot of business…

But feel free…keep him here….you will end up with ratings like channel five at midnight on the 29th February leap year!! Toodle pip.

BTW…he is an ugly J.H. and he did start this spat once again... please do your homework!

tabasco - 16 Nov 2012 09:00 - 4219 of 6187

Chess…now we have got rid of that extremely stupid person… let me have a sensible conversation with you….

Blnx have been attacked over this last twelve months…Goldman Sachs initiated 250p price 14 months ago which was way above a sensible valuation at that time…there was a scramble for stock and we hit 160p…Goldman produced the perfect scam imo…the pump and dump…

From that time to date they have cut their valuation more times than a second hand car dealer…their main argument for turn coating was that Blinkx had the loss of exclusivity on the Autonomy License…and integration time scales with Burst and PVMG

Brian the Muker tore the Goldman analyst to pieces at the CC with integration being no problem and the licence being perpetual and protected by many patents on the years of head start Blnx have had on their rivals!

Now the shorting…with large short position exposed with new fsa rules…[at last] we can see Luxor Capital Group had an extremely large short of 1.82%…now the guy behind this hedge fund shared more than a drink with the Goldman gang…are you beginning to see the reason for the price collapse?...Non fundamental

Blnx over that year have had fantastic partnerships…seen revenues increased by 84% to $82.0m... from $44.6m in H1 2012 and that was also a staggering 72% increase...wow…with 87% of the growing reach still available to be monetized…smashing through 100mil monthly unique users…and a juicy cash increase to please the market…

800+ media partners for 2012... 2 acquisitions over the last year or so Burst Media & Prime Visibility…bringing scale to the Blnx juggernaught…Multiply those kind of revenue increases over the next five years and you do the math…I see a parallel with Autonomy…now remind me what they went for?

Numis just initiated a buy on Blinkx… target price 104p with a 32 page report...a buy target price 104p
Cannacord - new target 110p buy…. Peel Hunt went further than that suggesting that further earnings upgrades are on the way…that was less than a month after the broker upped its forecasts by 45%.

Chess finally to give you peace of mind…Luxor Capital Group have been closing…they would be very vulnerable without the Goldman help…and Goldman are going to have to bring a note out without admitting their fears were incorrect…they are on there own…Luxor…I believe have been closing with some very large trades in dollars…we will soon know for sure…I happen to know there is going to be a positive move in the next ten days…Chess….I am always lucky….trust me!!!

Capitalism is the exploitation of man by man…..Communism is the other way round…tabascoism is the exploitation of luck..

halifax - 20 Nov 2012 13:41 - 4220 of 6187

sp down sharply is this a reaction to the news that HP are making a $8billion provision against their acquisition of Autonomy?

================

Hewlett-Packard (HP) has accused Autonomy of lying about its finances, as it announced a write-down of \$8.8bn (£5.5bn) relating to its purchase of the company.
The Silicon Valley computing firm said the majority of this charge was because of "serious accounting improprieties" at the Cambridge-based software company.
HP bought Autonomy for £7.1bn last summer, but said it now believes it was "substantially overvalued" at the time of the sale.
Nine months after the deal, the chief executive of Autonomy, Mike Lynch - who founded the company in 1996 and made more than £500m from the deal - stepped down.

Joe Say - 21 Nov 2012 06:53 - 4229 of 6187

Perhaps HP should hire some advisors - after all the last 300 or so did a good job in their eyes didn't they ?

Maybe another 700 or so should do the job

Joe Say - 21 Nov 2012 06:55 - 4230 of 6187

PS - dont forget our option/LTIP plans and bonuses as it is us as a board that is so responsible for the companys future unless we can find some mug to blame

Smacks of a BP stitch up imo

cynic - 21 Nov 2012 07:49 - 4231 of 6187

an auditor can only uncover a given amount unless it is a very extensive and forensic investigation ..... on the whole, if the reputable director of a reputable company says that this is the way things were done, for such and such a reason etc etc, it is almost inevitable that it will be believed .....

what often happens with fraud is that a very small anomaly will suddenly and unexpectedly open up a huge pit

Please enlighten me on what all this has to do with Blinkx
