FEVERTREE DRINKS PLC (FEVR)

dreamcatcher - 08 Nov 2014 16:51

Fever-Tree is the world's leading supplier of premium carbonated mixers for alcoholic spirits by retail sales value, with distribution to approximately 50 countries internationally.

Based in the UK, the brand was launched in 2005 by Charles Rolls and Tim Warrillow to provide high quality, natural mixers which could accompany the growing demand for premium spirits. The Group now sells a range of 12 differentiated flavours to hotels, restaurants, bars and cafes ("On Trade") as well as supermarkets and off-licenses for retail purchase ("Off Trade"). Approximately 70 per cent. of the Group's sales were derived from outside of the UK in FY13 with the key overseas markets being the US, Spain, and Belgium.

The Group's mixers are designed to be accompaniments for alcoholic spirits or used in cocktails, although they can also be consumed on their own. Since 2005, the Company has launched at least one new product a year, which includes 4 variants of tonic water, 2 variants of ginger beer, 3 variants of lemonade, and one variant each of ginger ale, soda water and cola.

Naked trader on Thursday - And Fevertree (LON:FEVR) continues to fizz higher. I suspect someone is going to buy it sooner than later? Maybe Schwepps?

dreamcatcher - 19 May 2017 21:00 - 432 of 711

Friday 26 May dividend 4.71p

schweppes = us stock dr pepper

dreamcatcher - 21 May 2017 22:03 - 434 of 711

Schweppes = Coca-Cola. I wonder what the reasoning is that someone has not tried a takeover bid yet? All I can think of is the company has expanded, doing all the groundwork.
So if a bid comes along the buyer can slot the brand alongside its own. Then you have competition inside house. Fever sounds from reports to be the Rolls Royce of mixers.
Perhaps a difficult one in the form of a takeover. Can Schweppes or the likes ditch their own brand, if they purchased Fever? May just be to expensive to do so.
Another thought are they waiting for a market disappointment and a share price fall and then pounce ? I think if I was a director of Fever I would be scratching my head as to why a bidder before now has not come along. Interesting.

Or they another company like the supermarkets that have just sat and watched for so long and not done anything to stop market share loss. Perhaps they are far to large now.

Market Cap fast approaching £2bn, (Market Capitalisation (£m) 1,891.10)

cynic - 22 May 2017 08:12 - 436 of 711

knowing big company mentality, one or another thought about it, then sent it to committee and then dithered some more and then thought, "oh dear! the cost has now rocketed; let's wait for it to reverse a bit" ..... and that would have been when sp was about 400 no doubt!

dreamcatcher - 22 May 2017 09:07 - 437 of 711

Agree. Would certainly not be happy if I was a Schweppes share holder.

cynic - 22 May 2017 09:47 - 438 of 711

the yanks (who own schweppes) will almost certainly be unaware that FEVR even exists .... but that does not apply to the likes of BVIC and DGE

btw, DGE is perhaps a decent investment in any case

dreamcatcher - 22 May 2017 09:54 - 439 of 711

They are in the states, but how bigger market share ?

dreamcatcher - 22 May 2017 09:56 - 440 of 711

I would think with a market share growing like it has been, that Schweppes are well aware. Otherwise the board of directors need to go before the firing squad. lol

"I would think with a market share growing like it has been, that Schweppes are well aware. Otherwise the board of directors need to go before the firing squad. lol"

Which given their gun laws should be quite a straight forward exercise to set up )-;
