New Biom Technologies (BIOM)

hangon - 16 Jul 2010 15:31

DYOR - - - - - - - - - Biom Technologies mid-July 2010 AIM
This is the new resting place for Stanelco, the wonder producer of starch-based food-trays...only they didn't catch on.Over the last 10 years to 2010 the 0.1p shares traded abour 2.5p then shot up to 24p during 2005 with promise of Tray-Trials I understand. Within a year or so, they fell to new depths and finished at 0.2p Of course they were full-list then and some were held in ISA's hoping there would be a big profit...only now these are distressed sales as the Company slunk off to AIM, presumably "...to provide better shareholder-value"
Perhaps someone closer to the Co. can explain why the new name is Biome
....rhymes with Home. Often it is done to remove the previous sp-history.
Could it be..so new investors can bask in ignorance, etc. I'm not aware of any "change" in fortune for SEO, rather the reverse.
In my limited experience, the longer the name of a company the longer you have to wait for any return...Huh . . . . . .
. SEO had been a terrible investment.
DYOR.
Can Biome be any worse...?
EDIT ( 24April2017)- "just woken up" -me not BIOME - sp is 154, but I note about June 2013 there was what looks like a CONsolidation . . do I recall many LT investors were sold-short?... as I believe the (new share) numbers were terrible! . . . Anyone?

Could this be a promise of Biojam tomorrow? :o)

Trading Update

Trading Update
Total Group revenues achieved for the first three months of the year were £0.4m (Q1 2012: £4.6m including contributions from Biotec). We anticipate performance this year to be second half weighted and consequently expect sales growth to increase in both divisions as the year progresses.

The Group's cash position at 31st March 2013 was £5.8m (31st December 2012: £6.3m).

We continue to make progress with the strategy, as set out at our full year results, to commercialise and develop wholly owned intellectual property. and our performance remains in line with the Board's expectations.

In advance of its Annual General Meeting today, Biome Technologies plc is pleased to announce its trading update for the three months ended 31 March 2013.
Well I'm glad someone is pleased!

Stephen Baskerville, will be joining the Group to head up the Division as its Managing Director in August.
So that's another mouth to feed.

Issue of shares to a Director
Total Voting rights

Further to the announcement of 28 March 2013 the Company has issued 12,800,000 new ordinary shares of 0.1p each ("Ordinary Shares") to Capita Trustees Limited which will be transferred to Leapacross Ltd ("Leapacross"), a company of which John Standen is a director and the majority shareholder, pursuant to the first tranche of the consultancy agreement with Leapacross.

Application has been made to the London Stock Exchange for admission of the new Ordinary Shares and dealings are expected to occur on 29 April 2013. Following the issue of the new Ordinary Shares, the total issued share capital and total voting rights of the Company is 5,897,666,333 Ordinary Shares with voting rights. This figure may be used by shareholders in the Company as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change in their interest in, the share capital of the Company under the FCA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.

Might as well round it up to 6 Billion and be done with it!!!

Go on Skinny, make them an offer, you know you want to! 😀

RNS capital reorganisation!

3 monkies - 10 Jun 2013 16:47 - 433 of 644

430,000 existing shares for 1 share GB 430.00
then each GB 430.00 subdivided into 177 New Ordinary shares of 5p and 177 deferred shares of 2.379.
Holders with less than 43,000 existing ordinary shares will not receive any entitlement to new ordinary shares and therefore will cease to be shareholders in the co., holders with less than 43,000 shares or whose holding is not exactly devisable by 43,000 will instead receive a fractional payment in lieu of their entitlement to a fraction of a New Ordinary Share.

That rules me out as I have only got 215,39 shares which cost me £2,106.51 and are worth -£2,091.43. Lordy Lordy, does one buy more to get to 430,000 or loose the lot. I am having a senior moment here, too many of them these days for the blood pressure. I just hope I am reading this wrong but after 4 reads I don't think so. It came up as important information on my Halifax share dealing. Halifax is recommending them as a buy - what! 8 dam years I think I have had these. The same for a lot of others I know.

greekman - 10 Jun 2013 17:13 - 434 of 644

Hi 3 monkies,

Thats as I read it.
Your holdings at todays mid price would be £16.15p, and that might change for the worse.

It makes this current statement from their web site look pathetic and one wonders how the LSE and FCA allow them to get away with it.

I Quote.....Biome is a company that has a core strategy to develop and broaden its bioplastics business organically through the exploitation of higher value areas where the properties of bioplastic materials are most suitable and valued, (the word exploitation fits, but I would use that in a different context).

The Group is also engaged with a variety of large-scale international customers and partners on a number of key commercial and development partnerships.
The Group has robust ethical and governance policies and a Board committed to driving enhanced shareholder value.

Yer, right!

3 monkies - 10 Jun 2013 17:26 - 435 of 644

In other words if one doesn't buy enough to hold 430.000 shares, although at the moment one is loosing all as it stands , then one has lost altogether when the time comes in July. You are correct I don't know how the LSE and FCA allow this. Corrupt is not the word, it is still the same company who have had our money over the years to help them make a balls of their co., excuse the expression but I am as mad as a wasp!!!!

Balerboy - 10 Jun 2013 17:30 - 436 of 644

3m, you say you have 215000 shares it says holders with less than 43000 will lose out. So your still in.,.
edit: I see you had a typo 3m. you are right.,.

3 monkies - 10 Jun 2013 17:48 - 437 of 644

bb, just looked again and I have 21539 I definitely have had a senior moment thanks for prompting me on that - I was reading it as 21,539 thousand - nevertheless it doesn't make me feel any better about the company. At least myself and many others may only have a wait another life time. Getting too old for all this!! A long time since 4.00 a.m. 8 years even longer haha!!

maggiebt4 - 10 Jun 2013 17:57 - 438 of 644

Am in similar position to you 3M with more shares and less loss but looks like you've read it right and your 177 deferred shares are going to be cancelled 'The Deferred Shares have no dividend or voting rights and limited capital rights, and will be cancelled as part of the Capital Reduction.' If I am reading correctly it would cost me £190 + dealing to buy enough shares to give me 1 share which would then become 177 shares, which they anticipate 'Nominal share value post Capital Reorganisation
5p' values my 177 shares @ £8.85. I would presume they will pay £2.379 per deferred share when they cancel them which I think!!! would leave me slightly better off but can't exactly do much with 177 shares. Soooooooooo what are the chances of this company coming good enough for me to recoup my £1000+ loss? think I'll be dead by then! Reads like another small share holder ripoff to me!

maggiebt4 - 10 Jun 2013 18:00 - 439 of 644

Surely it's 430 000 shares to qualify for 1 share/177shares

Balerboy - 10 Jun 2013 18:10 - 440 of 644

yes 3m's 43,000 nearly caught me.,.

3 monkies - 10 Jun 2013 18:53 - 441 of 644

It says one has to have 430,000 shares to qualify for 1 new share worth £430 subdivided into 177 new shares etc., as I wrote in post 433-434 the end -oh! sorry far too tired now and hungry been a hectic day. Can't say I fully understand it myself. My account says 21539 average cost per share 9.78 which I have averaged down over the stanelco years.

3 monkies - 10 Jun 2013 18:54 - 442 of 644

I don't know why I wrote the end that was a mistake.
