not if you traded wisely i would venture

mitzy - 26 Aug 2009 08:16 - 427 of 5505

I made a mistake bought @12p and sold for 14p now back in @90p.

Balerboy - 26 Aug 2009 08:22 - 428 of 5505

Ouch mitzy, should have kept some for a rainy day....lol

Lifes like that sometimes.

GKP closed at $1.65 in New York. It will be interesting see how they open over there.

EK has shorted GKP thinks they have run ahead of themselves.

cynic - 26 Aug 2009 12:00 - 432 of 5505

am contemplating my navel on this one for an hour or two

cynic - 26 Aug 2009 14:31 - 433 of 5505

arguably contemplated too long ..... have sold 50% at a damn good profit, albeit significantly below what i could have yesterday or even when i last posted ..... never mind; such a profit is certainly not to be sneezed at, especially when realised ...... shall hold the balance, which at the current price is still close to my norm ..... if there is more heavy selling (quite possible), then may well buy back

2517GEORGE - 26 Aug 2009 14:43 - 434 of 5505

I sold prior to the 70% rise and still did very well, have kicked myself a few times since but profits banked. With such fantastic gains available to so many pi's it's natural for the sp to fall back a bit. The question is, at what price should re-entry be considered? I don't think it will go right back to pre spike days so I guess around 65-70p mark. Any thoughts?

2517,i tried buying just now @72,no chance, will keep trying.

cynic - 26 Aug 2009 15:02 - 436 of 5505

that sort of level or even a bit lower sounds fairly sensible ...... i think a fairly heavy and general sell-off is imminent or even getting underway, so if you have a war chest, keep it that way and watch for relative bargains.

capetown - 26 Aug 2009 15:04 - 437 of 5505

CYNIC,i missed out on this one around the 30p mark, what iyho is a fair price,i want to buy longterm.
PS,thought you were going away?

cynic - 26 Aug 2009 15:16 - 438 of 5505

leave for Beaujolais tomorrow morning ... driving down with the bikes to Chalon-sur-Saone, stopping near Rheims o'night ...... cycling starts Saturday

anyway, back to GKP ..... from my singularly inexpert view, it would seem they have found themselves a nice large puddle, albeit there are intrinsic problems with its location ...... from memory it was about 58 before the latest RNS, so certainly 65 would look very tasty, if we get that sort of fallout ....... for myself, though my base is still only 44 (all the "cheap" ones went on first in first out rule) i don't think i would be willing to pay more than say 72.5

capetown - 26 Aug 2009 15:23 - 439 of 5505

Have a wonderfull break, steady on that wonderfull RED.

cynic - 26 Aug 2009 15:27 - 440 of 5505

we have a lot of fun ..... just 3 of us this year ..... steady 35/40 miles a day on very varied terrain (not too easy) with plenty of time to see the sites, smell the flowers and have a decent lunch!

2517GEORGE - 26 Aug 2009 16:12 - 441 of 5505

Excellent recovery.

le prix est partout le magasin!

required field - 26 Aug 2009 16:29 - 443 of 5505

Haven't sold any since the rise....as far as I'm concerned they are still drilling, perhaps more oil at the bottom, if not on with the next well....I think this is good for more than a pound..just a question of when....EK shorting....not convinced that's a good decision !.
