On 3rd July PFC announced that it was trading well ahead of expectations. Not surprisingly, sp jumped but has now fallen back pretty much to the same level as before the announcement.
While perhaps not as exciting as finding the next Cairn, remember that in the goldrush days, it was rarely the prospectors who made the money, but rather the suppliers of the spades and tents and stuff - e.g. Levis if memory serves me aright.

i confess i bought back 1/2 of this morning's sell at 1580 and now keep my fingers x'ed that the market in general will bounce, which is likely to drag PFC along with it ..... sure as hell i wouldn't have dared short the stock at any point

From the Daily MAIL tonight .......
Petrofac rose 16p to 1593p after it announced it has been awarded a £124million engineering and construction contract by Kuwait Oil Company for a new power distribution network in North Kuwait.

i do not say that "all the brokers" are correct in setting a target of £20.00, but it is nevertheless curious that DB should be the lone ranger in setting it 20% lower
however, and as previously posted, i would not expect much excitement here until such a time as sp breaks into new high ground with some impetus ......
whether or not LAM should be shorted with a guaranteed stop is perhaps more interesting today .... i suspect (but of course do not and cannot know) that the comparative strength there is primarily due to some bear closing

I predicted that at post 432

that first part makes no sense at all .... it is the charts i post from this site that i call "simpleton's charts" not yours MRSI ..... as i have posted before, when you post sensibly and without the abusive addenda, it is generally interesting even if one does not necessarily agree with the conclusions

re - simpleton's char
Maybe I did asume a bit, but as you post was after my chart and my knowledge of calling yourself names was "not" on my domain
I have noticed lately that you have soften your tone towards me though are directed to MRSI, when I am " magicjoe " ( most likely due to others comments about my charting knowlege on your own thread, where my predictions were not only correct but spot on so far )
Maybe we should draw a line, and you try not to be so irritating on starting arguments ( mainly going to threads I startet posting ) . I do go for the jagular if I see this happens, cut it out and let them know no "pussy footing" around is my motto.
good day

fine by me ..... i am well aware that i often set myself up and certainly never take offense at any well-deserved riposte ..... an modicum of humour therein can soften the barb!
as i have always been happy to acknowledge, your chart interpretation is often good and frequently even accurate after the event ..... however, i suspect that you are more of a day trader than most here, so "instant momentum" in either direction is not only important, but has to be monitored by the minute

i do not recollect PFC ever missing target, but nevertheless, sp has a habit of being sold off on results .... let's see what happens this morning ..... if there is a sell-off from "habit" rather than logic,, then shall seriously consider topping up

i'll be interested in MJ's (MRSI) view on this as i think he is a day trader, so has a different perspective

well their results were very good (i thought) and though there has been a sell off comme d'habitude but also because the market has been looking very sick, i just stayed as i was
it's still a damn good stock/company, but not sure if MJ agrees or even cares, as he is a day trader who quite rightly trades on momentum and/or whatever theory he cares to follow
