DYOR - - - - - - - - - Biom Technologies mid-July 2010 AIM
This is the new resting place for Stanelco, the wonder producer of starch-based food-trays...only they didn't catch on.Over the last 10 years to 2010 the 0.1p shares traded abour 2.5p then shot up to 24p during 2005 with promise of Tray-Trials I understand. Within a year or so, they fell to new depths and finished at 0.2p Of course they were full-list then and some were held in ISA's hoping there would be a big profit...only now these are distressed sales as the Company slunk off to AIM, presumably "...to provide better shareholder-value"
Perhaps someone closer to the Co. can explain why the new name is Biome
....rhymes with Home. Often it is done to remove the previous sp-history.
Could it be..so new investors can bask in ignorance, etc. I'm not aware of any "change" in fortune for SEO, rather the reverse.
In my limited experience, the longer the name of a company the longer you have to wait for any return...Huh . . . . . .
. SEO had been a terrible investment.
DYOR.
Can Biome be any worse...?
EDIT ( 24April2017)- "just woken up" -me not BIOME - sp is 154, but I note about June 2013 there was what looks like a CONsolidation . . do I recall many LT investors were sold-short?... as I believe the (new share) numbers were terrible! . . . Anyone?

In other words if one doesn't buy enough to hold 430.000 shares, although at the moment one is loosing all as it stands , then one has lost altogether when the time comes in July. You are correct I don't know how the LSE and FCA allow this. Corrupt is not the word, it is still the same company who have had our money over the years to help them make a balls of their co., excuse the expression but I am as mad as a wasp!!!!

3m, you say you have 215000 shares it says holders with less than 43000 will lose out. So your still in.,.
edit: I see you had a typo 3m. you are right.,.

bb, just looked again and I have 21539 I definitely have had a senior moment thanks for prompting me on that - I was reading it as 21,539 thousand - nevertheless it doesn't make me feel any better about the company. At least myself and many others may only have a wait another life time. Getting too old for all this!! A long time since 4.00 a.m. 8 years even longer haha!!

Am in similar position to you 3M with more shares and less loss but looks like you've read it right and your 177 deferred shares are going to be cancelled 'The Deferred Shares have no dividend or voting rights and limited capital rights, and will be cancelled as part of the Capital Reduction.' If I am reading correctly it would cost me £190 + dealing to buy enough shares to give me 1 share which would then become 177 shares, which they anticipate 'Nominal share value post Capital Reorganisation
5p' values my 177 shares @ £8.85. I would presume they will pay £2.379 per deferred share when they cancel them which I think!!! would leave me slightly better off but can't exactly do much with 177 shares. Soooooooooo what are the chances of this company coming good enough for me to recoup my £1000+ loss? think I'll be dead by then! Reads like another small share holder ripoff to me!

Surely it's 430 000 shares to qualify for 1 share/177shares

It says one has to have 430,000 shares to qualify for 1 new share worth £430 subdivided into 177 new shares etc., as I wrote in post 433-434 the end -oh! sorry far too tired now and hungry been a hectic day. Can't say I fully understand it myself. My account says 21539 average cost per share 9.78 which I have averaged down over the stanelco years.

Hi Balerboy,
I often see the 'End is Nigh' proclaimers when I visit York.
What is certain, is that one day they will be right!

This is the boards way of ousting all the small holders in one move, once the consolidation and subdivision is complete the stock share price should be above the share price nominal value meaning the board will be able to go cap in hand once again to investors.
If this board were any good and they had a viable profit making business then of course I'd consider maybe buying a few more shares. As it stands, I have no confidence in this board and as such can't consider any further investment. I will however vote against the motion just out of sheer spite for the worst board I've ever invested with.
