Condor Resources (CNR)

Luckysamba - 31 Oct 2009 16:24

Should I wait for the price to drop to .5P or go in at .6P. Is the El Salvador government going to allow Condor to drill in the new area Condor are hoping for ?

I've held these for a few years now DC. Excellent management, Mark Child in particular. A very astute businessman. Always risky investing in mining exploration companies, especially when operating abroad but I consider this to be my least risky, just hope that the Nicuaraguan government don't do anything underhand!!

dreamcatcher - 18 Mar 2013 16:31 - 46 of 62

Thanks for that kim. Hope you are keeping well.

Condor Gold kicks off work to consider La India pit dynamics
By Giles Gwinnett April 25 2013, 7:33am The geotechnical programme consists of 10 holes and the report is expected in August this yearThe geotechnical programme consists of 10 holes and the report is expected in August this year

Condor Gold (LON:CNR) has started a drilling programme at the La India project in Nicaragua, aiming to come up with the best design to increase the size of the gold pit.

The preliminary economic assesment (PEA) announced in March this year looked at an 800,000 ounce pit.

But Condor says that if steeper sides are used for the open pit, that number could be increased by 25% to 50%.

The latest 1,700m geotechnical drill programme seeks to examine this and lead to potentiually an open pit pre-feasibility study on the La India vein set.

"The PEA identifies an open pit containing 800,000 ounces gold at a 40-42 degree pit angle resulting in a cash cost of US$682 per ounce," says Mark Child, chairman and chief executive.

"Sensitivity analysis on the pit slope angles has shown that by steepening the pit angles to 50 degrees, the cash costs to produce an 800 koz gold pit reduces by 18% to US$558 per ounce due to lower strip ratios.

"However, there is circa 500 koz gold resource beneath the pit, an optimised open pit would seek to drive the pit down as deep as possible while retaining strong economics.

"Sensitivity analysis shows that using a US$1,200 gold price and 50 degree pit angle may result in 1.23M oz gold within the open pit extracted at a cash cost of US$702 per oz."

The geotechnical programme consists of 10 holes and the report is expected in August this year.

Condor Gold begins drilling Central Breccia at La India project
Mon 29 Apr 2013

Condor Gold begins drilling Central Breccia at La India project LONDON (SHARECAST) - Condor Gold announced Monday it commenced drilling at the Central Breccia area at the La India project in Nicaragua.

The 2,000 metre drilling programme will target a maiden open pit resource on the Central Breccia and test two nearby geochemical anomalies, identified in a soil sampling programme, that are potentially hidden breccia pipes hosting gold mineralisation.

The La India project has potential production of 152,000 ounces (oz) gold per annum at 3.8g grams per tonne for the first eight years of a 13 year mine life at a cash cost of $575 per oz gold.

Condor has five diamond core drilling rigs operating at the project, including one at the Central Breccia area.

Central Breccia was discovered in 2011 when following-up on historic regional soil sampling data collected in the 1980s.

Trench testing around the initial discovery outcrop delineated a 300m by 150m low grade alteration zone with multiple zones of wide high-grade gold mineralisation including trench intercepts.

Condor Gold plc

(''Condor'' or "the Company")

93% to 96% Recovery for Initial Metallurgical Testwork on La India Project, Nicaragua.

Condor (AIM:CNR), a gold exploration company focused on delineating a large commercial reserve on its 100%-owned La India Project in Nicaragua, which hosts a CIM compliant Mineral Resource of 2,375,000 oz gold at 4.6g/t, is pleased to announce metallurgical testwork commenced in early April 2013 on approximately 500kg of sample material from La India Project. The testwork is being undertaken by Inspectorate's Metallurgical Division in Vancouver and includes samples from all areas that were included in the recently announced Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) and/or are expected to feature in the planned Pre-Feasibility Study (PFS). The initial results demonstrate that the ore at La India Open Pit is amenable to processing using standard industry technologies with recoveries of 93-96%.

The metallurgical programme has been planned by a consultant from SRK Consulting (US) Inc., Denver, in consultation with Condor's geological staff as part of PFS and Bankable Feasibility Study (BFS) that Condor has initiated on the La India Project area. The main portion of the metallurgical programme will be conducted on three master composites and six variability composites prepared from ¼ core of selected drill hole intervals from the La India Vein Set, representing La India South, La India Central and La India North zones. Initial results demonstrate that the ore at La India is amenable to processing by either whole-ore cyanidation or a combination of gravity concentration followed by cyanidation of the gravity tailings with gold recoveries of 93-96% achieved at a moderate grind of 80% passing 74 microns.

In addition, metallurgical testwork to PEA level is underway on test composites from the America Vein Set, the Mestiza Vein Set, and the Central Breccia. The Central Breccia was not included in the recent PEA because it does not yet host a mineral resource estimation. However, Condor currently has 1 drilling rig completing a 2,000m drill programme on the Central Breccia area following-up on a previous drilling programme of 880m which defined wide zones of moderate to high-grade gold mineralisation at surface and suggest that it will feature in the planned PFS (See RNS dated 29th April 2013).

The 500kg of metallurgical testwork currently underway builds on preliminary testwork carried out a year ago on 50kg of high-grade material from the La India and Cristalito-Tatescame veins. Multi-element analysis of the metallurgy samples indicates that there are no preg-robbing elements present and the preliminary testwork demonstrated that both gravity concentration and cyanide leach are effective methods of processing the gold mineralised rock at La India with the best recoveries of between 90% and 96% achieved from a combination of gravity concentration and cyanidation of the gravity tails (see announcement dated 18th May 2012). The material used in the current study is more representative of the mineralisation included in the recent PEA (see announcement dated 5th March 2013) and represents a significant step towards bringing the La India Project to BFS in the shortest possible time frame.

The metallurgical testwork is expected to be completed by 4th Quarter 2013.

UPDATE - Condor Gold working the angles
By Philip Whiterow October 16 2013, 4:11pm UPDATE - Condor Gold working the angles

---ADDS BROKER COMMENT---

Using steeper walls would boost the economics of the mine planned at Condor Gold’s (LON:CNR) La India project in Nicaragua, a new technical study has suggested.

It would reduce the amount of waste rock that needs to be moved, lowering costs and opening the possibility of mining deeper than previously envisaged using open pit methods, Condor said.

Mark Child, Condor’s chairman and chief executive, said a steeper angle at the open pit was particularly significant at La India Project as 432,000 oz gold at 4.9 grams per tonne (g/t) sits beneath the current open pit resource of 954,000 oz gold of 3.6g/t.

"An improvement in pit angles could drive the pit deeper, so that a circa 1mln oz gold open pit resource [compared to 800,000 previously] could be used in the next mining study."

Consultant SRK carried out the geotechnical study to provide a more accurate model of the slope angles that can be supported by an open pit and to a level of confidence that can be used in a future pre-feasibility study.

The pit angles in the new study range from 40 to 48 degrees and are an improvement on the 40:42 degree pit angles used in the preliminary economic assessment released in March, Child said.

Condor added it expects to update its resource at La India by the end of the month following 23,600m of drilling.

Of this, 14,000 metres was in the La India Open Pit area and focused on converting the gold resource from the inferred to indicated category within the entire 954,000oz open pit resource and part of the 432,000oz of gold lying underneath.

“It is encouraging to see that the higher angles are achieved in the middle portion of the pit … where the majority of open pit and underground mineralisation is located. This will allow the company to incorporate some of the deeper and higher grade material into an open pit shell, reducing the overall strip ratio and increase the average head grade of the mill feed. Also, the incorporation of the deeper ore into an optimised open pit shell will increase the overall life of the proposed open pit,” said Ocean Equities.

“In terms of near term news flow, the completion of the 23,600m resource drilling programme, that has been underway since Sep’12, should be released by the end of the month. This will look to convert much of the inferred open pit resources to the indicated category and further increase the confidence in the resource as the company progresses to the PFS,” the broker added.
