I sit corrected - thanks Andrew! Apologies to everyone - that just shows you should never try to post on this BB while still half asleep :o(

In which case, I certainly don't have any bright ideas as to why the sp keeps dipping. Personally I think this is a buy in any case, most definitely not to be sold pending the exploratory drilling at Well 104. After which the price should take off again??

IMHO, DYOR, etc. And a good weekend to all!!

skyhigh - 10 Mar 2006 16:44 - 441 of 2511

The price dip is a bit of a bummer .... but shortfall should be short term...

Anyone know when the well 104 news will be released?

soul traders - 10 Mar 2006 18:55 - 442 of 2511

It's a piece of string, Sky. Victoria has us all on tenterhooks waiting for the announcement about 104. The release is said to be "imminent", but that could mean imminently next week or imminently when the drilling job finally gets done. As long as it's good news . . .

Prospector - 11 Mar 2006 08:28 - 443 of 2511

Good Morning all

First post on this topic.

Am in VOG at about 1.50 average - great prospects, lucky enough to be in Burren from 1.50. hoping this will go the same way. positive results from 104 will give share price a big boost.

Now the big boys are getting in on the cheap, this must be a great chance to do likewise. They must be in the know, not like you and I having to second guess every move the MM's make.So IMO there should be nothing for us to worry about and we should get in while the going is good,Good news will rocket this to well over 3 and we will be laughing all the way to the bank.

Kivver - 11 Mar 2006 09:41 - 445 of 2511

if only it were that easy, hope your right. ps what big boys are getting in, cant see it on the rns news.

dthomson014 - 11 Mar 2006 09:51 - 446 of 2511

Well there were several large buys went through at close of play yesterday, that is why the price dropped they were filling this order, can't see many private investors having the means to buy 100,000 and 175,000 shares can you?

Kivver - 11 Mar 2006 13:02 - 447 of 2511

if it is D, rns will be out on monday, tuesday at the latest, big boys have to confirm trades through an rns. will be watching with interest. Out at the moment, have been in once and made a nice profit looking to get back in with some encouraging news.

Someone want`s to buy them for 6 per share, now that would be nice?

Paulo2 - 13 Mar 2006 08:23 - 450 of 2511

16 would be better.

accord - 13 Mar 2006 08:55 - 451 of 2511

6 and 16: whatever you guys were smoking at the weekend it has surely affected your typing skills.

Paulo2 - 13 Mar 2006 08:59 - 452 of 2511

You're right, it should have read 116.

ma - 13 Mar 2006 09:32 - 453 of 2511

So whats the EGM about then folks???

Paulo2 - 13 Mar 2006 09:35 - 454 of 2511

They want authority to issue shares in the future. Possibly got a couple of acquisitiosn lined up. I'm interested by the timing. Why not hold it sooner? Unless they want to offer a couple of sweeteners in the form of 104 and 106.

ellio - 13 Mar 2006 09:39 - 455 of 2511

that's a way off! expect a lot more news then!! time to top up?????

ellio - 13 Mar 2006 09:39 - 456 of 2511

300p soon one expects!

dthomson014 - 13 Mar 2006 10:38 - 458 of 2511

Having considered this yesterday, my view is this:
1. VOG already have an acquision target....and a rough estimate of costs to purchase it and the potential asset value to VOG.
2. To buy the target, VOG have to get shareholder agreement to issue shares to buy....they will therefore do this after the (good) results of 104/106, so that shareholder confidence will be high (hence the EGM in April and not sooner).
3. After the results of 104/106, the share price should be at a premium and therefore VOG will have to exchange less shares for the target.

NB1: VOG seem confident that the new target owners will accept shares instead of cash in the deal, which bodes very well for the results of West Med....as why would a new partner choose shares instead of cash, if the previous partners had lost out...
NB2: Remember the directors holdings....far greater than ours.

Yes, I acknowledge that I am being overly optimistic (so no ramping comments please)....but thats how i see it for now.

soul traders - 13 Mar 2006 11:06 - 459 of 2511

D,

Interesting points; you may well be right. However, being slightly pedantic, I would query whether VOG are bound to issue shares as consideration for a new acquistion. They could just as easily issue the new stock in a market placing and plan to pay for any acquisition in cash (as SBE has recently done).

Could VOG not also be planning to raise more cash to speed the development work on existing assets? This would also bode well for an imminent news release regarding 104/106.
