JKX are a growth oil and gas company, principally based in the Ukraine, but also present in several other countries, and have recently presented some excellent results.

LEAD i sensibly cut my losses, and unlike you, i admit my blunders and/or greed

scotinvestor - 14 Nov 2007 08:31 - 446 of 656

if u read other threads u will see that i hold losses.

never mind, just another 5 million posts left for you today on this and other threrads

do u ever sleep?
r u an illegal immigrant? lol

cynic - 14 Nov 2007 08:34 - 447 of 656

no, but my grandparents were effectively refugees in early years of 20th century and one of my uncles was the only survivor of his family of 14 from the last war

aldwickk - 14 Nov 2007 08:51 - 448 of 656

Scotinvester, wrote. beware any share that cynic is interested in...........it usually plummets!!!!!!

Only when his gone short .......lol

HARRYCAT - 14 Nov 2007 08:52 - 449 of 656

Well, none of that helps with the problem of a rapidly falling sp here.
Maybe it was something to do with:
"LONDON (Thomson Financial) 09/10/07 - JKX Oil & Gas PLC said it is plugging and abandoning the Golitza-1 exploration well, onshore Bulgaria, as the logs indicated that all three objective horizons in the Jurassic and Triassi do not bear hydrocarbons."
Still, up 5% this morning, so not all bad.

scotinvestor - 14 Nov 2007 08:53 - 450 of 656

like lead aldwick...dont think so

cynic - 14 Nov 2007 09:01 - 451 of 656

chart as below is far from pretty, though with rsi bouncing off a quite heavily o'sold position there may well be a bit to go for ..... however, resistance likely when 200 dma hit, and further up, 25+50 dma pretty much coincide which could prove even more problematic

Dr Square - 14 Nov 2007 15:48 - 452 of 656

This followed the market down and then fell fowl of a shorting attack as well as panic selling when the 320 mark was breached. End of the week 365 and the last 5 days will be forgotten.

The political nature of the share makes it volatile end of but how political is JKX after it has already defended itself against a land grab and alledgely has ties with some big hitting Russians. :-)) Hold tight and be rewarded is my view.

Regards
Cynic I enjoy your posts as i do everyone elses, don`t be drawn into personnel issues

RAMP TIME
what you think of 2008 for SEY as a question post on that thread please ( I hold a lot )

cynic - 14 Nov 2007 16:04 - 453 of 656

you're right Dr S ...... but on very rare occasions i allow myself to rise to the bait

fell fowl, so everyone turned chicken and sold?????

many if not most oilies had a good day ..... i follow TLW and PMO which both had excellent days, while IEC was comparatively lacklustre

queen1 - 14 Nov 2007 19:15 - 454 of 656

Well thanks for some "interesting" posts following my query yesterday to reignite this thread. Good to see a 13% bounce today :-)

cynic - 14 Nov 2007 19:31 - 455 of 656

very much shooting rats in a barrel today with the quality oilies .... i don't hold JKX though i think it is one of under-rated oilies, though hampered by its fsu (russian!) stigma

required field - 28 Dec 2007 14:17 - 456 of 656

Doing very well this at the moment, can it break the psychological 4 pound barrier
and stay there.

cynic - 30 Dec 2007 19:33 - 457 of 656

good observation ..... a number of quality oilies (as opposed to mini-minnow E&Ps) are looking very interesting at the moment .... for myself, i have plumped for IEC and PMO ...... would again highly recommend PFC as an oily support company

required field - 03 Jan 2008 18:22 - 458 of 656

This is new territory for JKX, let's hope it now remains above Four Pounds, Gas price increases will definitely help.

cynic - 03 Jan 2008 20:25 - 459 of 656

another oily that is performing well and does no harm to follow, along with IEC, PMO and TLW and no doubt a few more ..... but you can't sensibly have them all in your portfolio

HARRYCAT - 03 Jan 2008 21:44 - 460 of 656

What a turnaround! Sadly missed the boat. Will have to wait for a dip.
LAM also worth a look as oil support Co. Exempt stamp duty.

required field - 04 Jan 2008 08:45 - 461 of 656

I wish when FD directors sell that : they would say that had to pop out and buy a house or a few groceries or something along this line, I still think that this is just a temporary blip and as long as oil and gas remain this high this stock and a few others will carry on gently rising.

required field - 04 Jan 2008 18:33 - 462 of 656

Good burst above 400, what will happen on monday ?, We shall see, Good weekend everbody.

lelael - 09 Jan 2008 15:50 - 463 of 656

On the move up again, JKX and DGO having a great start to 2008.

required field - 09 Jan 2008 21:41 - 464 of 656

Yes good move up today, though I've missed out on the IEC rise.
